Default My 05 STi leaked oil with the new oil filters

I had an oil change a few days ago, and it was leaking. Brought the car back, and they had to put on the older style JDM black filters. The dealers get an allotment of the older black filters for cars that have the leak problem. Not ALL cars have the problem, but mine does. I can get the black filter with each oil change to prevent the leaking.

This is what I was informed about today - I know there were new filters out replacing the black ones, but I did not realize they had leakage problems with certains STis.

Has anyone else heard of this problem I just did an oil change on tuesday I had to call the dealer when I looked at the filter I thought they sold me the wrong one. Could this maybe have been an error by the dealer that caused the leak?
