machining flywheel - change clutch engagement point?
subj. says it all...
I think I remember someone saying years ago that machining a flywheel can change the engagement point in a subee hydraulic clutch...because the hyd. clutch is designed to meet the flywheel at a certain point, and if its machined...the meeting point will be closer to the engine, and screw it up. I kinda remember that maybe the flywheel could be shimmed or something...but anyways, I think I remember my flywheel being machined by the previous owner when he did the clutch. So I'm thinking it shouldn't be done again at any rate. Leaving me to get a used flywheel or a new stock flywheel or a lightweight flywheel....I don't know. Decisions...I hate them. Thanks Micum _________________

if t was machined once then you need another flywheel. when i needed my clutch done my tech said i needed a flywheel because subaru states the flywheel should not be resurfaced. he had told me it is good for one resurfacing but it isnt recommend. so i bought a light alum fidanza for less then a stock unit. works great on myrs. hope this helps
