Question Rear fog lights on 2002 WRX US models ??

Hey guys I found out that the fuses and wire harness together with the bulb is in place. My question is where the heck is the harness to install the switch, I do not know where the switch is originally at the desh so I do not know where to start looking. Please help if you own a Euro car left hand drive. Thank you
Gino

It goes by the regular fog lamp switch. I have a pic of the dash and the switch. If you want it just e-mail me direct.

The rear fog light on the WRX is on the right hand side tail light cluster. It's in the inside left (next to the bootlid). There is only one. The switch is placed on the blank area next to the front fog light switch.

For the US WRX it is on the correct spot ! Leftside closest to the trunk hook bottom bulb with two elements inside.Only the smaller of the elements light up and as soon as I find the harness I will take pictures of the whole deal. Thank you for the tips on where the wires are I will go hunting wires now...

Question

Hmm. Do you guys know if the wiring is present in the older style Impreza, too (98-2001)?

Thanks in advance.

It is standard on Aus spec GC8 WRXs. I don't know about the North American 2.5 RS. Why don't you look and see? If there is a bulb in that spot. then it is..(obviously).. the it's just a matter of getting a switch and wiring it up.

Talking

Neat-o. I will have to go poke around in my trunk to find out if the light and wiring are there.

Now I just need to find out about sourcing a foreign rear window along w/ rear window wiper.

I like to use the rear wiper to wave at people, such as those who thought they were faster than me.

ginowrx,

Are you certain the bulb you're looking at isn't the combination tail/brake light? Does the other element happen to come on when someone steps on the brakes?

Jon,
Frank is correct but add that the light indicates where the driver is i.e. left hand drive or right hand drive so you also know where to pass the car (ofcousre driver side).
I turned on all the lights and that particular element inside the left lower closest to the hook in the trunk did not light up but the other smaller element did. Then I looked inside the fuse panel and the fuse exists on the slot for the rear fog. I just need to find out where the wire is and I will try to plug the fog switch on the one I found. I will let you know if I am successfull. Thanks
Gino

Question

I know this is a newbie question, but, what the heck is a rear fog light, what does it do?

Are you saying it is already installed on our US WRXs?

Thanks, Michael

its that one little bulb in the rear cluster that is brighter than all the other ones. Euro cars, Mercedes, Volvo etc have these (in America). Its so when your flying down the highway in teh dense fog (haha) you can easily see the car in front of you just like the front foglights let the car in front of you see you coming up on them.
