2011 STI - Check my logs
Hello. I took a few logs today and am looking for some feedback.
I am currently running Cobb stage 1 91 v3.00 map and using Shell V power 91 octane fuel. My mods are Nameless Performance Axle back exhaust and the AccessPort. Here is a log I took in Sport mode. I notice some knock during hard shifts. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...hl=en_US#gid=0 This is a log I took in Sport# mode. I see alot more knock in S#, is this normal or anything to be worried about? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...hl=en_US#gid=0

Shift knock is a fairly normal occurrence and is difficult to tune out (and may be false knock). Other occassional corrections, especially if it is a single count (i.e. -1.4 for your ECU), are normal. Consistent corrections during a WOT run is where it is more of concern (other than the shift/throttle mash knock).
Keep in mind that fine knock learning is learned correction - doesn't mean you are knocking at that moment, but had some past knock (other than if the current load/RPM cell changes at that moment). So, it will continue to be applied until it learns (ramps) back up (assuming you hit the conditions and cell necessary for that to happen). You can give the 91 ACN map a try and see if there's any improvement, but there isn't really a problem here - just keep logging to verify. Bill |

Thank you for the reply, Bill.
Since things are looking good with the v3.00 map would it be worth it to try out the v3.01 map? Next fill up I was thinking of trying out the 94 octane fuel out here, and changing to the 93 octane map to see what kind of results I get. Will 3 more octane be of any significant benefit? |

When comparing any maps, make sure you reflash the new map (not realtime change) and give it about a week of driving for the ECU to learn before making any determination on your butt dyno. Whenever you reflash the map, you reset the ECU's learned parameters which may make it feel a bit soft at first. Bill |

I'm not power hungry... yet. When the time is right, I will be getting a DP for stage 2. I just want to make sure the car is running strong and problem free. Thanks very much for the replies and help! |

Hey Bloodbath,
If you go with Husky94 you are going to easily loose 50km's a tank. I personally use esso 91 in my wrx rather than shell. Also I would not go with the 93 map for us in western canada because if you go on a trip husky's can be hard to find and then you might be stuck with 91. Maybe stay with the 91 map, try husky 94 just for added assurance? |

Winnipeg, Manitoba. I'm really starting to steer away from Huksy 94. I've already lost some mileage from going stage 1 and although I could afford more frequent fill ups, I'd rather get the better fuel economy.
