So, just did my first 600+ mile roadtrip with the Subaru. Damn the rear end is soft on these cars, mine is an '08.

Will 09 WRX Struts/Springs work on our '08 sedans? Anyone know the going price on a set of used OEM ones?

Thanks.

Yes, they'll work. When I was shopping for them the prices were around $400.

It looks like you can get all new shocks for $275. If you ask around, you can probably find '09-'13 WRX springs for pretty cheap. I got my set of '12 WRX springs for $40.

What about STi springs? Would those fit our cars too?

Throwing on different springs will blow your struts fairly quick. Be best to just get some WRX struts and springs. Or get some Koni inserts and then pick new springs.

I should have said KYB struts... A set of KYB struts can be had for about $275. Supposedly those are OEM. But they are listed for all the 5x100 models from '08-'13. I don't know how well they will handle stiffer springs.

IDK about STi springs... Something about them is different I think. However, '09-'13 WRX springs have the same rates as '08-'10 STi springs so you should see the same results between the two. '11-'13 STi is even stiffer.

I believe it's the opposite... LOWER the front about 0.5" (even out the gap).

I believe it's STI front struts are different design from ours therefore they don't fit our cars but the front springs fit 2.5i & WRX OEM struts (a bit shorter so they lower the front about 0.5"). STI's rear shocks are identical design from our cars but stiffer.

Actually the STI springs are shorter but stiffer than the 2.5i springs. I had STI springs on my car and the ride height wasn't changed... Although they did blow my stock struts within a week or 2.

I can't figure out how to get the video out of iPhoto. To think I'm an IT Consultant, fml

Here's a quick video. It sucks though

I'll try to take some more video soon.
