16psi in hot weather is different than 16psi in cold weather. In hot weather you want a higher boost pressure to compensate for the oxygen being less dense.

OK,
Which EBC will let you put in the boost you want (preferably in PSI) and it will go there, with out adjusting to that point. One that has a couple or more different "presets" (i.e. day/night) and will, if any do, make that boost level in EVERY gear. I don't know id that is possible or not, still learning. |

Bleed-type MBCs are more sensitive to variable temperature and humidity than ball-spring type. The boostmonkey is essentially a bleed-type MBC, but you can adjust it from in-cabin. I often adjust my boostmonkey once or twice a day to maintain consistent boost (daytime temps of 85-90F, high humidity, drier nights at 75F), but since it's in my center console, it's no big deal.
EBCs use a closed-loop feedback control to manage boost, so they're not weather-sensitive. /Andrew |

I heard that the AVCR is very hard to tune, is this right, if so how is it so hard?? I have a subscription to SCC and can't find it in the August issue. Do you know what issue it is in. Thanks Steve |
