Angry Why Me? Why is it always me?

APEXi exhaust hanger blew off the muffler, and some mysterious noise in the middle under part of the car when cruising around 3000-5000 rpm . The muffler's hangar was fixed by a muffler shop

APEXi exhaust has BURNED off most of my *STOCK* back body. I repeat it burned off most of my back body by poor tip and muffler design. Strange thing is, theres email NO address for tech issues for customers. I hate APEXi's customer service. Im probably gonna have to buy a entire new subaru back bumper because of this.. coming out of my ****ing pocket.

Taillight went out afte re-gluing the sides yesterday

Clutch and Pressure plate making sqeaky noises: dealer doesn't 'hear' it

*4* different rattling locations from STOCK subaru parts..

Left foglight went out (RIGHT after I replaced the left headlight with $100.00 bulbs ;(

Window driver's side motor still broken. The spring SHOT off the motor. Dealer is replacing it, God knows when the part will come in.

Center armrest cupholder broken..

Theres some kind of black piece hanging from the front underportion of my car, will talk to dealer about it.

Weapon*R filter is black (originally was BLUE when I bought it.. need to replace..)

Is that enough problems to warrant selling my car and getting a car that has DECENT quality? Subaru has been overstated in reliability. Flame on if you will, but it's true.
The engine is reliable but the interior parts just suck major crap which is just as important as any other part of the car. Oh and by the way, i'm just waiting for people to say "Dude tha'ts aftermarket, that's not subarus fault" Most of the problems up here ARE subarus fault..

Flame Suit [ON]

PS: I know a lot of members feel this way as well..

I think they should erect a new law, just for you. The "Lime" law. Cause from the sounds of it, that car is very sour. Wish you luck, in whatever happens.

I don't see the STi Pedals on your list, I am glad to hear they are holding up.

It could be worse... this all could be happening to my car...

Damn, sorry to hear about all your problems.
I am still bothered about all the chips and scrapes the my thin paint is getting.
But how did the cup-holder get broken?
And half of the stuff you listed were aftermarket stuff, maybe thos problems add to your harsh criticism of the quality. Just a guess.

Sorry to hear about your problems.

Don't you have the rallispec cat-back? They are the ones who designed the fit, and exit angle of the exhaust system, not Apex'i. I don't think Apex'i will help you out at all. I am sure they will tell you that that muffler was mounted at an incorrect angle, or too close to the body or something, and to take it up with the shop who designed the cat-back. **I am not trying to insult Rallispec's design in any way, but just warning you what Apex'i will probably say.**

That might have something to do with why the Apex'i made cat-back hangs so low, compared to the Rallispec version, maybe they know their mufflers get hot and keep from burning body panels by lowering the muffler down. Just a theory, I am talking out of my rear obviously

The tailight is Sti, so that is close enough to SOA. Is it just the bulb?

Clutch and Pressure plate seem to be common problems and I have heard many good success stories about getting dealers to replace them.

Rattling, join the club. My RS rattles way to much considering it has 5,000 miles on it. I don't think dealers can/will do much to fix this so I am going to try it on my own next weekend.

Don't you have aftermarket foglights? I have heard that the PIAA's don't last too long.

Windows, cupholder, piece hanging down. Those should be things the dealer can fix easily, if/when they can get the parts.

Weapon*R. How many miles did it last? Can they be cleaned like the K & N filters?

IMHO most of the Subaru-caused problems are small, and easily fixed (with the exception of the clutch). Some of the aftermarket problems are bigger deals, and I think you will need to pay to have those fixed.

You have had some pretty horrible luck the last couple weeks it sounds like

Good luck on getting everything resolved.

I never would tell anyone to get rid of their Impreza but you might look into your state's "lemon" law. Most state's have one in some form. It generally says something about having so many problems in the first year lets you get rid of the car. Of course all your mods, mileage, or ownership time might nullify it but it doesn't hurt to know your rights anyway. Best case senario they hand over a 2000 and you can start all over. Good luck!

Is the center armrest cupholder the same on a MY00 as it is on your car? I have an extra brand new one collecting dust in my office that you are welcome to shouldn't be more than $3.00 or so for shipping. Let me know if you want it (it is grey.)

Clutch and Pressure plate noises - just drive it yourself when you know you can reproduce it and prove it to them. After all, the car should suit the owner's driving habits.

"*4* different rattling locations from STOCK subaru parts.."
4?!? You're complaining about 4 rattles off stock parts? I had at LEAST that many taking mine from the dealership, if not more.

"Center armrest cupholder broken.."
Someone actually uses this retardedly-placed cupholder? There is NO reason to put a cupholder in there and I'm even considering taking mine out for storing my crap in there instead. Cups go in the dash cupholder, fan is always on either floor output or windshield/floor output.

Weapon*R filter - Soooo... you must've driven through a hell of a lotta stuff to get it THAT dirty.

Beyond that, all your problems suck... I hope you get everything fixed and that you can talk to Apex direct and talk about that rear bumper.
