Default 2012 Impreza: How are you mounting your phone?

Man, I cannot seem to find any good way to mount my iphone in this car. In my old truck I had it mounted on a ram mount and it was great. Only problem is that i had to drill a few holes to mount it. In the truck there was a nice hidden spot to drill so it was no big deal. I even ordered a cigarette lighter mount for my phone and wasted $20... its a piece of junk. Maybe you guys have seen something I haven't. Lets see what you got. Here is a pic of my previous mount:

Vent mount, baby! Just use the center-right one. I used the left one on my old Accord coupe, but in this car the right one is close enough. (With an iPhone 4, anyway!)

Picked up a suction cup mount that sticks to the windshield. Works fine for me.

I was thinking of getting a window mount but the windshield seems so far away. Have to get a pretty long one?

I set my phone on the seat neat to me, or stick in the cup holder.

I put mine in the phone holder slot, but it slides around so I ended up putting it in the cup holder or the empty space underneath the radio.

Is that what that slot is? I tried putting my iPhone in there but it falls out after every hard turn.

The second slot is for putting your phone or that's what the dealer guy told me, I have no idea. I do use the first slot (more shallow one) for change.

If its a short trip and I'm lazy I leave it in my pocket too but its kind of annoying since I haven't set up my bluetooth call entries yet.

That's nice how did you do it? Can you post a picture with the phone out of the way? Nice you did what I did put newspaper in the space that isn't covered by the OEM all weather mats.

oh you actually saw that

Here's a close up pic

The bottom is made with iron wire and glue and wrapped with a piece of black cloth. On top that's a piece of foam with a groove cut to hold my phone in place.

keep in mind if you do something like this it will block any button you have on top of your phone!

Cheap and easy to make but it does take a little patience to bend the wire into a shape you want!

Oh nice, I'm going to give that a try, mine's not going to look anywhere as good as yours though I bet.

Here's how I'm mounting mine:

Using the OEM Samsung car mount, with the suction cup base on the bare plastic (I took out the rubber mat in there) holds it steady, although a little low for my preference.
