Jewbaru V. 2.0 Project
Well I'm sure a few people have noticed I haven't been showing up to the meats lately. Been UBER busy with court related stuff. Basically I'm coming to a huge sum of money and I'm using it to build myself a new wrx for myself as a little gift for a lot a BS I've been dealing with for the past year.
This is going to be my log for every step I make with this thing, so here we go; I'm going to be picking up a brand new 2013 wrx premium WRB hatch from RK in about 2-3 weeks. Talked to Unabomber and he hooked me up with a friend of his (sam) that is saving me a bunch of cash on the following parts: Perrin status seats Perrin red front strut bar Invidia cat-back titanium Invidia down pipe cobb AP Mishi radiator X-line Mishi blue hose kit Rally armor mud flaps Perrin silver shroud stoptech lines Perrin fuel rail kit Perrin blue inlet Perrin CAI Perrin TMIC GT Spec unequal Cosworth Manifold Defi gauge boost 52m AEM UEGO Perrin maual boost controller Blitz harness Whiteline 24mm adjustable Whiteline 22 mm adjustable Front and rear endlinks BC racing coilovers And I'm getting a set of Work emotion XD9 18x10 5x100 +18 from another vendor. Still deciding whom will do the tune on it. The only reputable shop I've found is IAG. All I'm waiting on right now is to sit down with the judge next week to finalize some paperwork. pictures will be uploaded. I welcome any SERIOUS advice and help in anyway. If you're just going to hate on me then keep it to yourself.

Good luck on the project. I find it odd thst you'd post about a court settlement and the exact amount on a public car forum.

keeping the turbo stock?
Cosworth manifold might not benefit you unless you're trying to rev to like 8k from what I've read. None the less, still gonna be badass when you're done. |

My motor went baaaad. Decided up front the shop building the motor specified break-in and did the tune. So no finger pointing if things went bad.
Your project's a bit different starting with a new motor, with bolt ons. But after the install you need a tune so why not pick a place that does both? Also, suggest you break-in the engine without mods, then mod and tune. But consult your shop of choice 1st on break-in procedure and break-in before/after and your mods. You'll have a second opinion to consider. I used IAG due to mechanical rep, consultation, AP pro-tune and Jorge. After 50k miles still think the same. |

Why a new WRX instead of a used STi?
Seeing as how you want aggressive fitment wheels, 5x114.3 is the way to go. Oh, and Cosworth intake manifold on the stock turbo? |

I dont want an STI or to buy used around here. Also I don't want to travel for used/new car. I didn't go for the new STI because of it's cost and the fact that it has WAY to much gadgets for me. I don't need electronic bs for my diff and the ECU. The AP will be enough for me. with the premium I get the same sized motor and turbo and with the money I save with getting the premium I am able to get parts that make it faster than the STI.

See everyone says that, assuming I plan to only keep it for a few years. I plan on keeping it until it dies. I wouldn't buy a BRAND NEW car thinking of it's future resale. Also from what I've seen with buying used cars around here and pretty much everywhere else, I'm also purchasing the previous owner's mistakes/mods/whatever. With a new car I know no one has messed with it and I know what to expect and it has a warrenty. "But the mods you throw on will void the warrenty" 90% of the mods are able to be easily replaced with OEM. I plan on keeping all my OEM parts. I just advise everyone to give up on mentioning anything about a used car because I don't plan on getting a used car at all. I have my plan and I'm sticking to it

Yes, you can make your WRX faster than the STi. However, making the WRX faster than a STi will only lead to broken parts (which is entirely dependent on how you drive). If you were looking for just a stage 2 build, then I'd understand. Do what you will, I'm just being devil's advocate. The one thing your car definitely won't need is the Cosworth intake manifold. That's big coin for a mod that you nor nobody else will notice until you pop your hood. Use that money elsewhere. Last edited by nhat; 01-24-2013 at 12:21 PM. |

If you want big power, save up for a built trans. Another reason to get the STI is the strong 6 speed.
You did post the exact dollar amount. Only thing you didnt include were how many cents. Don't play it off like you didn't. Want some SERIOUS advice? Don't brag about money on the internet. Don't post about your state of legal affairs on the internet. It'll just come back to bite you in the ass. Last edited by Hokie-wrx wagon; 01-24-2013 at 04:38 PM. |

yyyyyea no. A: would have taken all my settlement to pay for it when I also need to pay off debt B: I hate the GTRs. As a HUGE skyline fan, the gtr is a slap in the face of the legacy that is the Skyline GTR. But regardless, I'll consider everyones input on the manifold. I just hate popping the hood and seeing that plastic junk in there. It bothers me. Maybe get it hydro-graphiced? Maybe paint it and possibly grind off the excess plastic in between the ports? Any ideas? So far I've only seen replacements for the manifold, never the stock plastic one painted or anything. I just want it more visually appealing for me.

Fine, I'll put it this way. I'd rather be able to drive and enjoy my car however I choose instead of having my ass pucker every time I touch the gas pedal. Fair enough? |
