Default Making my Baja two-tone: Looking for red lower body cladding

Looking for the full lower body cladding off a red Baja so I can make my Baja a two-tone black/red scheme (see subytruck.com forums for more info). This is presuming it all unbolts, which I believe it does.

I am willing to trade my RandomTech cat-back exhaust or my "turbo" style gunmetal gray OEM wheels if you can provide me this.

Or if anyone wants their red Baja to have gunmetal-gray lower cladding, we can just do a direct swap.

Thanks everyone...

The 2 tone scheme is one of the most disgusting looking things I've even seen, in any color. IMO it was one of the reasons the Baja failed to sell well.

Red and Black? Please tell me you're kidding.

Do you even own a Baja? Why are you trolling? Go drive your ghetto-ass old-school Talon and leave me alone. But thank you for such a worthless response that contributed absolutely nothing but negativity. What a tool. Your mom blows because she should have told you that if you can't say anything nice, not to say anything at all. Besides, it's a free country. I can do whatever I want, and so can you! This nation thrives on diversity, so get over yourself. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean that the world revolves around you. Now go drive your ghetto Talon around and get lost.

How the hell can putting a want out for parts lead to a flame war?! Good God! Damn little kids and the Internet, I swear...

I thought the black/silver scheme of the previous generation was one of the best looking ever, while the '06 black/black was just kind of boring. It seems like if you're gonna have a gawdy body style, why not go all out vesus trying to hide it? I mean, we all know it's ugly, duh, but that's part of the charm. Oh well, I guess I like to be different than most people, that's why I drive a Baja, but then again what do I know, my cat's breath smells like cat food.

(Oh, and I was kidding with the previous post. I wasn't really mad, just having fun, a play on "flame wars" if you will. Didn't mean to get anyone riled...)

I am thinking of putting black cladding on my silver Baja. Sort of a reverse of the standard option. I think black down low would look better.

Too bad you are in Riverside, I'd trade my silver for your black. You said you liked that look.

When all is said and done, I am not a big two tone fan, but, what the hell.

Be Different!

If you get the red cladding, contact Apple computer. Maybe they will hook you up with a matching red/black U2 edition iPod! ;-)

I sort of got the idea from when I had a Miata (yeah, that explains a lot!). Anyway, I had a black Miata and one day I picked up a hardtop out of the Recycler and I had to get it home. I had every intention of painting it, but there it sat, atop my car, at a Del Taco drive-through, and the young kid behind the counter said, "That's the tightest looking car--with the red and the black--I have ever seen!" I have to admit it looked cool. At my work, someone drives a silver Miata and he has a black hardtop on it and it's pretty much sex on wheels.

i saw the picture of the black and red, and i liked the way it looked. the cheapest way to go about it might be to put red vinyl on the lower part. i hope i'm not treated the same way, when you see i'm adding polish alu diamond plate to my 06 silver

Thanks for posting that. Anyway, it'll have red cladding from another Baja (I don't think I can do vinyl with all the weird Pontiac-esque contours), Rota 18-inch P45F black wheels (with red pinstripe), and a 4-inch drop. I also want to put on a two-chamber Flowmaster instead of the RandomTech 3-inch exhaust I have now (long story on that). A blow-off valve would give it pimp points, but I don't like the side effects of one. Sigh...

P.S. My apologies to 10.5sec1992AWDtalon for carrying things too far. I do respect all opinions and I was just being a punk.

Default Two tone, or not to tone...

Okay,

Boys, this is getting out of hand. Time to cool the rhetoric.

Having seen the picture that pdiz posted, I have to say, it will make an interesting looking ride. I'm a single toner at heart, but it is an interesting idea, and so cheers for attempting it.

If you are not into it, then fine. There is no reason for anyone to get personal over personal preference.

Go for a drive through the woods, open the sun roof, and put away foolish thoughts. We are all driving a soon to be classic.

Wothless? That word is undefined in the dictionary, dude. As Nelson from the Simpsons would say, "Ha, ha!"
