Question I miss the old Pittsburgh thread... you know, the one that crashed NASIOC?

We are lucky they closed it or the site would definitely be down. Good thing all those other big threads are closed and aren't bogging down the servers anymore...

You know, like this one:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=490083

or this one:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=617956

or this one:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=739957

or this one:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=216121

or this one:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=668191

Oh wait, never mind, that last one is closed:

Phew... NASIOC is saved!!!

Honest question - being an IT guy, I must ask how webserver performance is affected by big threads? Unless the BBS software is utter crap, there wouldn't be any reason to cache the entire thread and database lookups for integer values cost nothing. Or maybe it just performed like crap because the indexes got fragmented to hell when someone combined it with another big thread.

Our new thread blows. It wasn't even started by a Pittsburgher. Do MAIC mods just have OCD or something?

P.S. I love you guys.

Or better yet, unlock it and merge the new one into it.

unlock and merge would be the most pratical, and funny, at least that way there wouldn't be a huge gap in time of posts, etc.

The new thread is lame, boring, and gay. It doesn't have the spirit of our old thread. In fact it makes me cry.

**** the MAIC mods and the horses they rode in on

I vote that Jard bumps all threads in MAIC posted by Pittsburgh folks to get himself banned.

Oh wait, that would only be like four threads.
