Can you let potential swappers what the weight difference is from a GD sedan? Like you stated, GC body is a bit high on the cost side compared to the Aging bug eye which can be had cheaper with some factory turbo engineering.

I am now debating a swap of GC or just get a WRX and call it a day since a nice RS is like 6-8k and WRX is dipping to the 8-9k zone.

GC sti coolness factor can be overwritten with 15k of pure JDM parts LOL.

wanted to say, you guys did a great job on the car!

I've been weighing both of my GCs after different levels of modifications... start from the back of the thread...

Aqua thanks for that info! so it seems 3000-3100 is a safe estimate for a full STI GC.

Man it definitely runs real close to GD sti weight.

Our car weighs 2850 with a tank of gas in it. That's with no stereo, no air conditioning -- for that matter no climate control at all -- and bunch of the sound reducing insulation thrown out. No spare tire.

A stock GD STI weighs around 3250, but if you chucked out as much stuff as we did on the GC I'm guessing it'd be down to 3150 or so.

Update on the Mach V GC Project Car. Well, there's not too much to tell. We've driven it at several more HPDE events. We've gone through several sets of Hoosiers and Hawk DTC 60/70 brake pads (both of which I love).

This past summer we noticed it started to grind going into sixth gear, so we pulled the transmission and had it gone over by GT Performance. The sixth gear selector fork was worn down pretty far (probably during the 70,000 miles it had before we got it), so we replaced it and popped in some fresh synchros and put it back in.

We've really enjoyed being able to review our track outings using the Racekeeper video/data acquisition package. Here's a sample:

Dan, I have to say that is awesome work!!

Did you guys adjust the suspension at all, namely caster via bushings or camber and toe? I'm assuming yes, but wondering by how much to make it track ready and dialed.

It's got about two degrees of front camber, and a little front toe-out for better turn-in. We didn't use any aftermarket caster bushings or adjustable rear control arms or anything like that.
