Question Shagon wagon

[quote=rosedaleny806;39779748]thats a very width and offset. you wont need to roll or anything. especially at stock suspension

How about
225/40R18 S.Drives
18X7.5 ET45?

Why do people order wheels BEFORE asking for advice here? I don't get it.

you can add it to the post with pictures of your car already in it.

this isn't a picture thread or picture forum.

255 federal is too wide for that wheel. 245/40 would be the widest I'd go, though ideally you'd want something with a smaller diameter.

you'll still need to roll and most likely pull.

Does wheel width effect what offset you should run? Meaning, if I run a 7.5 with et 48 and want to go to a 8.5 should the offset change as well to keep from rubbing the strut? I have a wagon which already has limitations but want to run a larger wheel (both wider and taller). My plan is to run to a 225/40R18 (or 17) as long as I don't have to have neg camber or fender pull. If anyone running a bugeye wagon has some input it or does/don'ts it would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. In general, a wider wheel will require a lower offset. However, an 18x8.5 +48 will fit under a wagon with 225/40/18s with little issue. I ran a 235/35/18 (a little bit short sidewall, but wider tire) on an 18x8.5 +48 on my wagon and only had to roll the fenders because I was dropped at least 2" below stock. I ran -1.5* of negative camber up front and the rear was natural camber from lowering the car.

Alright I came across a really good deal so I'm just looking for some feed back and advice on my summer wheels I wanted to get. Tires and wheel fitment hasn't been my strongest subject

Year: 2004
model: WRX WAGON
Wheel model: BBS rs replicas
Wheel size: 17x10 +20
Tire Model: N/A
Tire Size : N/A
Suspension: Eibach lowering springs (2 inches)
alignment: Eibach camber bolts (uninstalled)
fender mods: plan on a roll and pull

I would assume I need a roll and pull, and I would install the camber bolts, what size tires would you guys recommend? Would I have to stretch the tires? I was hoping to avoid stretching. Thanks in advance

You'll need a lot more work than is worth it, unless you're getting those wheels for free. Especially if you're new to the fitment game. If you want to avoid stretching tires, you're going to have to run a 245 or 255 which will not fit under a wagon without flares, especially with that offset.

What work would I need? I've read a couple people saying 17x10 wasnt too hard to fit. I pretty much am getting them for free through a straight trade. If it is a must I would do a minor stretch i guess

Was this person talking about a wagon? Because wagons have far less room for wide wheels.

17x10s aren't horrible to fit on a sedan, but the wagon is 10mm (just under half an inch) narrower than the sedan. You'll need at least -2.5* to -3* of camber, and you aren't likely to be able to get that out of a camber bolt, so you'll need plates that run a couple hundred bucks. You'll need the fenders rolled flat and pulled and probably a 225ish tire that will have pretty significant stretch. I think FD7 is running 18x10s on a wagon, but I don't know the offset. Check into his set up to get a better idea of what you need to fit a 10" wide wheel.

Thanks for the info flat4LGT! The camber bolts might get the job done I had them at 2.5 degrees before on a previous set up! Is stretching tires a must?

Pretty much. What it does is slant the sidewall so it clears the fender even if the wheels themselves poke past the fender. If the sidewall is squared up, it will rub as the suspension compresses, since the fenders curve in.

Like so:

If the sidewall was squared, the fenders wouldn't clear the tire.

if you have no idea how difficult 10" wheels are to fit on a wagon, you probably should just walk away.

This is the third post you've made with pictures.

Great. Good for you. This isn't a picture thread, or a picture forum.

While i do enjoy your car, one post is fine, but you don't need to keep posting pictures.

No, it's the fact that you are posting over an over.

Like I said. You have 2 previous posts already with pictures. This is not a "stance" thread, this isn't a "meaty" thread, it's a technical assistance thread.

Yes, pictures for reference are GREAT and encouraged, but this isn't the place to whore out pictures of your car.

The problem is that this doesn't tell us much of anything about your fitment. We need camber specs, suspension set up, etc. to know how it's fitting. Just saying you put the wheels and tires on that you did doesn't tell anyone how you made it fit.

I posted a picture yesterday to demonstrate what stretching tires and negative camber does to allow proper fitment, not to show off my fitment. 18x9.5 +38 with 235/35/18 tires on BC BR coilovers running -2.7* F/-2.9* R camber and all 4 corners rolled and pulled for those that care.
