Synaptic 3 Fixed all the stuff my previous shop did wrong. Good work costs a fair wage. Be an informed customer when you hire a shop. Ask for a rough estimate of time. Tell them if you have a budget. Ask to be contacted if they run into problems. Ahead of time, discuss your plans and ask advice.
S3 takes the install and function of parts and systems very seriously. They don't simply throw on whatever you bring them for cut rate labor. Those of us who went to VIR with them had a great time, because our cars were all superbly prepped. Incredible, fade free brakes from 140+ off the back straight, lap after lap. Reliable speed. Safety. Neutral, predictable handling. When you're four-wheel drifting your car through turns 1, 2 and 3 at VIR on R Comps as a novice racer, you don't think about whether you could have gotten your work done for a little less. You're just enjoying the confidence that a properly prepped dual purpose track/street car is giving you. Dope, sorry your experience was more expensive than you planned.

1st- To everyone who says why didn't you do it yourself? I was having the catch can installed so I figured well the car was there I would just have them do two other quick things. I also live in a apartment so I can't do my own work here without sneaking around a bit or I would have.
2nd- All of the other charges on my bill except for the labor are perfectly fine with me, they aren't out of control, it's just the 4.75 hrs. 3rd- I am not suing anyone as most custom shops don't ever call you before work is done because most of the time you know what you are getting done. My point is I have about $12k+ invested into my car not to mention 30+ hours on a dyno and this is the first time I have ever seen a bill and been like HOLY **** I was just taken by shock. Synaptic is great at what they do and I never said anything less then that about them as I am not out to be a trasher. *edit* updated Dana and I have been contacting through email and he has brought a great solution to the table and all is worked out. I couldn't say enough about what they are doing to make this right and plan on many more trips up to Synaptic. A huge thank you to Dana and everyone at Synaptic for making good out of a bad situation. Thanks Guys Chad Last edited by ST1Ddope; 09-14-2007 at 01:13 AM. |

As stated, these guys are a specialists - Synaptic3 Motorsports Fabrication Specialists. They take the time to do it right. There are plenty of shops that will just slap parts in there and move on to the next job, these guys don't. I know that when my car leaves the shop I have no worries about the quality of work that was done. I have had some pretty nice labor bills myself, but I am paying for the work to be done right, the first time.
Dope, I'm glad everything worked out for you. |

I have just gotten back from visiting S3 for the first time. I'm impressed with those gentlemen and their shop. I'm very meticulous and in talking with Dana (and Ron for a short amount of time) these guys are the specialty shop that nearly all car enthusiasts want in their town. I am very excited to see that a shop like S3 has finally sprung up in my neck of the woods.
Dana was extremely patient with my interogation....and I don't even have any work lined up with them quite yet. But, how they approach the market and products and vendors is refreshing to say the least. They want the best for their customer, without a doubt! |

had a great experience with Synaptic3 yesterday. they were able to get me Endura Techs for less than what i found online, and came in right around what i estimated for labor prices and what they gave me for time. so the final number was what i expected and no surprises.
i was early to pick up my car and they had no problem with me hanging out, poking around asking questions, showed me a few of the other cars in the shop. talkative, informative, answered all my nagging questions about my set up and adjusted my setup for my picky requirments on my DD (and vague descriptions as this is my first suspension set up) with out flinching. as for the ride, it rides smooth, car sits right, handles sooo much better. it's still new to me so we'll see how i like it in a few months. adjustability is so easy with these. anywho.. just thought i'd let everyone know. |

^^^Yeah, people have no idea what a properly aligned car drives like - a high accuracy track alignment is the best, cheapest suspension mod you can do.

yeah i thought i had a good alignment to begin with and now i can let go of the steering wheel (not recommended by the way) and the car tracks perfect as long as there is road in front. before it would slowly slowly drift but that was probably because it wasn't corner balanced and my fat a$$ was on one side.

I was told they charge less than the dealer by hour and then when I brought a Subaru all the way up there I found out there estimates are 3 times as much as the dealer or other speed shops. Case in point, a compression test by them was quoted at $300 and both the dealer and enhancedstreetperformance.com quoted $100. I also told them I don't give a blank check on anything, no estimate, no work, so they didn't bother to tell me how much they were going to charge for an estimate. I ended up paying $300 for a visual inspection and an incomplete write up then I was out of there. Besides the above website which also has an AWD dyno, eastcoastswappers.com is very good and quoted me $2,750 to swap out my H6 SVX for an STi motor. Both of these places are in Mass. SS Automotive in Salem, MA is also respectable.

I recently decided to jump into lowering my 2011 WRX. After many hours of research I stumbled across Synaptic-3 on NASIOC. The review held them in high regard for being meticulous and preforming top notch work – they were spot on!
After exchanging several emails with Dana, who was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions with great detail I was confident that their work would be 1st rate. Synaptic was only a short 30 minute drive for me and so I reached out Dana and the guys there and made my appointment for the install of my coilovers, rolling my rear fenders, and corner balance/alignment. I showed up a month later the night before to drop off my car with all of the new goodies to get installed and was greeted by the team – they showed me around the shop and some of the projects they were working on…fast forward to the next afternoon. I showed up several hours before the shop closed and my car was all put together on the lift… or so I thought. They showed me around the car suggesting ways in which I could make my camber adjustable and when we got to the front of the car that’s when I saw it – a crack in the paint! The front fenders hadn’t even been touched and Dana and the guys quickly realized (after I had mentioned I had test fit my wheels a few weeks prior - oops!) that my short trip around my block had caused the cracks. Nervous as could be they suggested that I roll the fronts as well to keep the wheel from hitting the fender again. They quickly got to work as the day got darker – still taking their time on every inch of my car as if it was their own vehicle. Dana even took over the fender roller himself to work the paint around the crack! The entire time (three hours) I sat with Dana and the guys and talked shop – for them to keep banging out the work and include me as a first time customer and as a younger guy was more than welcome. Their skills, fabrication, recovery from unknown problems, and overall level of service have made me a repeat Synaptic-3 customer for my future services and modification needs. I plan to go back in the spring to have them install a few more suspension parts as well as making me my own custom catch can set up! The guys all share the same passion for the cars they work on and their level of work reflects this. I would/will recommend Synaptic-3 to anyone I know looking for a quality race and fabrication shop! |

The white rally car I'm guessing by your profile info - that thing looked nuts!

Swung on by today for my first time. As an ex-DSGer, was surprised by the number of lifts!
Glad to see a fair number of Subarus in the parking lot. Last edited by Beanboy; 03-06-2013 at 05:52 PM. |

Figured I'd add my review of Synaptic 3 on here. I got an electronic 3 port boost solenoid installed today along with a dyno tune. Install of the solenoid went smoothly, tune went fine besides some Access Port corruption that made it take a little longer than expected but it all worked out in the long run
Car put down 233awhp/278tq which they said was about 12awhp/13tq more than the Stage 1 Cobb map that comes with the Access Port that I had on there. The tune feels so much smoother all around and the turbo spools much quicker and stays closer to redline (due to the new boost controller as well) All in all the shop was great, everyone there you could tell was knowledgable and very good at what they do. I will be going back once I get some more parts and go stage 2. Last edited by CCSubaru; 05-09-2013 at 02:18 PM. |

Synaptic 3 Review
Just got my 13' WRX Sedan Limited SWP back from the boys at Synaptic 3 on Friday. They installed an Invidia catted DP, 3port BCS, cold plugs and a Cobb AP. They also did a protune on it as we'll. I couldn't be happier with their service, knowledge and the performance of the vehicle right now as they were able to pull 321 tq out of it on their mustang dyno with some modest stage 2 upgrades. Dana was very easy to deal with and Dave and Ron did a great job on the install and tune respectively. I highly recommend these guys if you want the job done right and I will definitely be back to see them very soon. Thanks guys
