Default Passenger seat airbag sensor

The passenger seat airbag sensor is showing "OFF" when a person who weighs 135 lbs. is in the seat. Subaru of America says there is nothing wrong with the car. We tested the car four times and showed Subaru that it does not function properly. The car is still in Subaru's lot more than two months after we purchased it.

A little more info on your car would be helpful... like year and model.

However that being said. Is the pass seat in the full upright position with someone in it? If its reclined and someone is seated in the seat and the seatbelt clipped in, the air bag will turn off. that is normal and nothing wrong with the vehicle. Its a safety issue.

depending on the make and model, the occupant detection system can be recalibrated.

have you ever taken these seats out, dissconnected anything, etc?

please provide more information. Including passengers build. Proper seating position is also critical. Have they tried re-zeroing the seat sensor?
