HID kits in stock non HID housings are a bad idea. Look into HID retrofit kits.

Ddmtuning.com is pretty good. I have several kits of theirs, never had a problem with them. Getting them before subiefest is questionable though.

I second TRS. You can do it yourself for a fraction of the cost. It took me about 7 hrs to complete my retrofit. Morimoto H1minis are your friend.

Another +1 for trs. If you have reflector headlights I probably wouldn't do it. But if you have projectors its well worth the money.

+1 for TRS. Bixenons are fun
Edit: this is one perfect example of a HID kit thread which did NOT turn into flamed name-calling. Why? because the OP posted an uniformed question, and listened to answers without arguing that "my yobuddies have a 90000K kit and its da best" Group hug for a nice thread Last edited by Bluefoton; 09-29-2012 at 06:41 PM. |

+1 on ddm if your gonna go with a kit you can use with stock headlamp assy. but retrofits are always the way to go if you wanna be legit and legal.

Lightwerks or trs. Recommend going full retrofit to reduce glare to a minimal and you will be happier with the higher quality equipment and overall outcome

I love my TRS quickretro kit. I didn't wire up the bi-xenon, although the projectors are setup for it if I ever want them. The TRS retrofit kit was the most I've ever spent on HIDs, but they came with the ballast that mount to the bottom of the stock headlight and put much more useable light on the road where it is needed and comes with a razor sharp cutoff pattern. Also, when you see my car head on at night, it is just two blue/white circles, no glare. I highly recommend theretrofitsource.com's kits. The adjustment is made just like the stock halogen lights. You have to pop the hood and level them that way. I don't know of any way to add auto leveling, or the motors like the STis have.

This is also true in this case, because I've seen many other newbies ask similarly clearly stated questions politely get their butts handed to them without provocation! Guys will be guys I suppose haha |
