Default FB20 Headlight Swap?

Can the Impreza headlights be swapped with the wrx's?? If not any good aftermarket recommendations? I was looking at Spec-D's but I don't know.

If your talking about the current 2 models I have a 2014 Impreza 2.0i, all lights are the same as the 2015 WRX except for the brake and fog lights (the fogs match the BRZ). I've already done a full L.E.D. upgrade in my car. I got all my lights from Subispeed.com

No the one at Subispeed wont fit my car, mine came from
http://www.rallysportdirect.com/STI-...n-WRX-STI-2011

There are 2 different mounting bolt layouts. Side mount and rear mount.

Stick your head under and look b4 you spend your money. I've recently looked behind the bumper of a 15' Impreza and it had side mount holes where my 14' has rear mount holes.

If you have the "new" side mount you can get the ones from Subispeed

Thinking about it, if you have a rear mount setup you could probably make it work if you make new holes on the side of the mounting bracket. That's if you really want the f1 style rear fog light that Subispeed sells.

Hello Andrew, I want to upgrade all my lighting to LEDs and have bought the "Boomerang" LED lights already from Subispeed. Can you provide the part #'s or links for the headlight and High beam kits you bought. Looks sharp!

They no longer have the high beam\day time running lights. This should work

Low beam

Doesn't do much for a fog light though considering they dimmed it to pretty much the same light output of the standard tail lights. That one is really more of a 4th brake light than anything.

Subiespeed does sell the original JDM one as well. I'm just going to stick with that one myself as I want the fog light more than the additional brake light.

Andrew,

How well do the LEDs work without a projector? You have any glare issues or dead spots?

I work for a rental car company, the stock headlights are the best compared to the competing companies cars in my opinion. The purpose of led upgrade only amplifies the light output.

Everything is more visible especially reflective surfaces (street signs, licence plates, and the lines painted on the road)

I don't notice any dead spots or glare issues. I'm pretty sure oncoming traffic has glare issues when I drive by, but honestly I have bad night vision so I don't care if I'm blinding them when I drive by

It's interesting that this product claims to be for a WRX sedan, yet it fits on your hatchback.

All that means is that rally sport direct has confirmed it for that car. I assume they didn't do a fit test for a 2014 2.0i Impreza hatchback.

Did you have to do any modification to make it fit?

Which version did you buy? The choices are:
  • Smoked - Smoked lens with matte black reflector
  • Chrome - Clear lens with chrome reflector
  • Red with Clear Lens - Clear lens with cherry red reflector
  • Red with Red Lens - Red Lens with cherry red reflector

Which setup did you choose? The choices are:
  • F1 Style Brake Light Only
  • Rear Fog Light Only
  • F1 Style Brake Light + Rear Fog Light

How do you like the result?

That's not an excuse to endanger other drivers. If you can't drive safely with a car the way it is from the factory, you should not be driving.

So what your saying is because I upgraded my lights so I can have better visibility I shouldn't drive? Are you aware that a lot of the luxury car companies like Audi legally puts LED headlights in all of there cars for better visibility?

I said if... I never actually said I'm blinding people. I've upgraded my lights in every car I've owned and never had anyone complain or have a police officer pull me over because of how bright my lights are, so I doubt I'm blinding people.

Can I afford an Audi? No, no I can't. Should I be allowed to use the same style lights as them? Yes, yes I should. I feel if someone wants to upgrade they're lights so they can see better they're more than welcome to.

No, because you upgraded your lights to blind other drivers, are completely aware of the issue, and choose to do nothing about it.

Let me know when you grab some $4000 Audi or Acura factory LED headlight housings, because comparing your halogen H11 housing to a set of LED projectors is pointless.

I cant find anywhere me posting that was my intention. show me where I said that. I did say that I upgraded my lights due to my bad night vision. I also said that that could be a side effect and that I don't care about.

The reason I used Audi for an example. Its because my mother has one and I drive it on a regular basis. I think I should be allowed to compare the headlights in my car to the headlights in my mothers car.

Do you really think that the company who make these led bulbs don't take into consideration that there product could go in a housing meant for halogen bulbs. The people who have projector housings already have led headlights so they wont be buying these.

Staring at the sun while driving will make you go blind as well.
Watch where your going and don't stare directly into the light.

I would rather turn on my high beams and swerve.

Your eyes are naturally attracted to the brightest object, test it out of you don't believe me.
