Bye Bye STI!!!

Default My 12 minutes of excitement for the day!!

I was sitting here... browsing... then I get a fire alarm on my screen. I run to the fire system unit, and I see the alarm message "Fire Detected (photo) Basement"

I tell a guy on the dispatch board to run and check the basement, and the janitor is vacuuming... Apparently the dust actually set the photo-sensor off... it must see a cloudy condition, and set itself off...

Well, we're linked to the Fire Department automatically, so a few minutes later (3.5 to be exact) the fire department comes blazing through the gate full siren and crew...

Those guys get REALLY excited when they get called. They asked me "Are you sure you don't need us" like 10 times...

They had sad puppy dog faces when I told them it was a false alarm...

I lived in a crappy student house last year with a bunch of my buddies and we came home to a TERRIBLE smell. Like instant death if you walked through the door. So we were wondering wtf could hvae happened when my roommate thought it might be gas because they mix a funny smell in the gas so you know it's leaking. So we figure, why not call the gas company and ask?

5 minutes later there are no fewer than 6 fire trucks, 2 of which are the big-ass ladder ones and a couple ambulances. Blocked off the road entirely and a huge crowd gathered.

The sewage backed up because the owners half-assed the plumbing. We looked like doofuses.
