The bug with the hawkeye front end rolls into the shop after the GC project. Its getting a smooth engine bay, relocated ABS, and a custom roll cage and then the owner is going to finish it on his own.

Yeah I think with the weight loss I might be the fastest car I have ever owned. My wagon was fast but it was pretty heavy. Ether way its going to be a bunch of fun.

I donno yet. I was thinking white and a like neon green color for the wheels. Also considering the 2011 bluish purple color from the STi Sedan w/ white wheels. Silver w/ bronze was another idea but that's boring. Another idea was the green my legacy's calipers are painted with black wheels. Maybe a more Austin Martin British Racing Green w/ bronze wheels. Thought about making it look like a Mellon with a pinkish red inside and a green outside. Also considered military spec semi-gloss gunmetal grey.
It is a racecar and it does have a couple sponsors so it needs to be flashy and stand out. But it still has to look cool. I need to play on Forza some more... Once I get closer to getting it ready for paint I think I am going to make a few color and decal schemes and put it up to a vote. Interior color will also be effected as well as the colors in the engine bay. I know its just a race car but I can't not make something look as nice and clean as I can. So the engine bay will be all color matched and pretty as if it was a show car but it will only be shown at the track. Johann @ Girodisc |

i do like the grey military spec color scheme idea. what about like bright turquoise blue on outside with flat grey accents and clean white inside with titanium chrome wheels like the mirror chrome rota 17x9 dpt. i am in love with those wheels.

Yeah looking into the rules for XP I think I am going to make a few changes. I want to try my hand at some fiberglass since its been such a long time and I'd like to refresh myself. I am going to redo the rear door and hatch skins in fiberglass with a couple layers of Carbon fiber. The front doors outer skin will be made the same way but be fused onto the gutted inner door skin so it will be much lighter but I will still be able to use it like a good door. I am going to redo the fenders using foam (flared to fit the big tires), cover them in fiberglass, and then melt the foam out from the backside. They will get fused to just the outline of the original fender so I don't have to worry about fit and attachment points. The rear quarters will be cut out and a new fiberglass over fender will be fused on. This will probably take an additional 70-100lbs out of the weight of the car and I think I am going to go with the R34 Midnight Purple w/ Bronze wheels and leave the hood, doors, hatch in carbon fiber. I am still working on this GC but I am going to devote some time to the fozzy this weekend and maybe start on removal of the floor pieces and maybe get it on its side to do some of the undercoating removal. The GC project is moving along nicely but I think I am going to run out of work soon since there is no tranny, no engine, and no interior back to me. Car might leave fora a bit to get painted before we start assy so if that happens I'll go full bore into this while I have the extra bay open.
This is the color I am thinking. It will be a custom color but it will be similar to this but with way more pop. I am on the hunt for parts right now so I have contacted a few people for some deals to see if I can stretch my money a little farther. The more I save the more I can do. And do I mean more HP lol. I love that color so much. Good choice! And why not white wheels instead of bronze to make the car pop a little more?

I will be putting some aggressive pads in there and they are going to dust a lot. The wheels I want done come in white so I'll order in, in bronze and throw them on. If I don;t like them then I'll paint them. I love white wheels one race cars but they never look that good when they are covered in brake dust. And you can see the brakes more if they are a darker color.

Yeah I think I am going to keep the Giro rotors I already have for track and make a super ultra-lite set for Auto x. We did one for the EVO 8/9 and shaved 27lbs off the OE 1 piece rotors. I bet I could shave 30lbs off using the STi Rotor.
Purple Anodized Hat looks hot too. We did these earlier this year for an EVO 8/9: Johann @ Girodisc |
