Could rich condition cause CEL (UTEC)?
Well I finally got my FJO wb02 hooked up tonight and did some data logging. Each WOT run showed 10.0:1 @17-18psi!!!!
Could this cause the engine to missfire and throw a CEL?? I replaced my plugs today and I'm still getting a CEL. Any insight would be appreciated

I think I will say YES!! If you are in the 9:1 range of rich (which is possible since FJO only goes to 10:1 max rich) then you will have the possibility to detonate/misfire from having too much static compression caused by too much fuel in the cylinder.
I would definitly lean things out a bit until you get to AT LEAST 10.5:1 range and go from there. |

Great. Thanks. I guess I'll lean it out. I've had a few specs of detonation here and there so I might have to take out some timing....which spawns another question....
The stock stage4 map has a max advance of ~26 degrees in the upper range. Where should I start? Should the timing have a nice "curve" to it or can you have spots of 24 degrees and spots of 26 here and there? Thanks, ScoobieSnaX |

curve.... up and down is going to be realllly herky jerky
ALSO.... before you screw with fueling.. give the car about 4-5 days of driving around for LFT to set... you'll find that day by day it's going to change. Trust me on that.... Jorge (RiftsWRX) www.ProjectWRX.com |
