Question Could rich condition cause CEL (UTEC)?

Well I finally got my FJO wb02 hooked up tonight and did some data logging. Each WOT run showed 10.0:1 @17-18psi!!!!

Could this cause the engine to missfire and throw a CEL?? I replaced my plugs today and I'm still getting a CEL.

Any insight would be appreciated

I think I will say YES!! If you are in the 9:1 range of rich (which is possible since FJO only goes to 10:1 max rich) then you will have the possibility to detonate/misfire from having too much static compression caused by too much fuel in the cylinder.

I would definitly lean things out a bit until you get to AT LEAST 10.5:1 range and go from there.

Great. Thanks. I guess I'll lean it out. I've had a few specs of detonation here and there so I might have to take out some timing....which spawns another question....

The stock stage4 map has a max advance of ~26 degrees in the upper range. Where should I start? Should the timing have a nice "curve" to it or can you have spots of 24 degrees and spots of 26 here and there?

Thanks,

curve.... up and down is going to be realllly herky jerky

ALSO.... before you screw with fueling.. give the car about 4-5 days of driving around for LFT to set... you'll find that day by day it's going to change. Trust me on that....
