Need help Locating the Gray Wire under the E-brake cover. Color change in 06 sti ?
First - yes, i have read the SOA statement that turbo timers are unnescessary/a waste/ etc etc. This is a question about installing one nontheless -
I have dissassembled the center console area, but do not see a black module with a gray wire running to it. There is a black module that says "BOSCH" and has red, blue yellow, black, white and green wires running to it. Is this the security module refrenced in other turbo timer install threads ? I have read the stickies (that i found through searching) and found that the popular instruction do not list the wire running to the e-brake switch as anything but pink, while in my car it is green. So i know that some wires in the harness have changed color.Does anyone know if this what has happened in the '06 STi ( currently pulled apart ), and if so which wire to clip for the keyless and security to work ? Is the security module behind the ebrake ? If it is i'm a dunce for moe than one reason... Full nomex suit on - check !

The security module in your car is not by the e-brake, that applies to older models only. It may be behind the glovebox unless it was relocated again for 06.

Checking there in a min. Thanks for the help! I searched the Electrical and wiring forum several times but found no info on this particular year + not seeing the module made me leary. Thanks again.

Where is this thing!!!????
I removed the glovebox and there are several boxes under the dash, including one that was bolted to the back of the glovebox assembly itself. None of them said "security module" on them like some of modules in TT install pictures i have seen. Does anyone know where this thing is? Did I see it and not know it?
Is there a way to scab the factory service manual so that i dont have to bug anyone ? |

So I have read several threads claiming that the drk grn / blk wire going to the shock sensor under the dash behind the glove box may be the correct one to snip in the '06 STi, in order to retain the alarm function while the timer counts down - can anyone out there confirm / dis-confirm that notion ?
