So, if it doesn't use the port in the bumper... What is that port for?

I am looking at installing the Curt C11286 on my 2.0i Premium 5 Door for a platform bike rack, and I was really hoping it would be hidden behind this port. Do you have a picture of it from the side so we can see how far down it extends below the bumper?

Thank you for the pic above. That will help me explain it to my wife.

beleive JDM has them but pricey..around $200.......

I simply got the reflectors in the lower bumper replaced with LEDs and connected them to my brake lights....cost around $60 with shipping from the vendor.....15 minute install per light.......

examples of them are over in the aftermarket thread

Now that sounds awesome. Do you have a build thread with pictures by chance?

Default Curt #11286

Just installed this on my 2012 Sport- cost was $249 including insert pin and clip- cost $90 for local installation- took less than hour- nearly invisible- just using it for a hitch bike rack- camera is down but looks like one above-

Thanks for the photos. I am also looking to install the Curt hitch soon. You mentioned grinding, are you referring to enlarging the holes closest to the front of the car mentioned in the instructions? How much bigger did the holes need to be? Did the install include any other modifying?

How's the hitch? Pretty solid feeling I hope.

Where did you order yours? Cheapest I found it was here http://www.autoanything.com/towing/77A3874A3808057.aspx

Thanks for the photos. Out of curiosity, did you order the hitch from etrailer.com? Is the hitch pretty sturdy? I looked over the instructions. How much do the holes have to be enlargened? I think I'll be going with this curt hitch also for my bike rack.

Purchased from AutoAnything for $128.95. I think it's plenty sturdy, I would be more concerned about the body of the car if I were towing, I only use it for my 2 bike carrier. I enlarged the holes (see install pdf) probably less than a 1/4 inch on each end with a die grinder. No clearance issues or other modifications were necessary. I did it myself, but bolting it up would be much easier with a helper, the bolts can get pushed back into the channel if your not careful, it happened to one of mine and it wasn't very fun getting it back in place, the supplied fish wires are your friends. Very satisfied with this hitch.

Yeah I saw it on AutoAnything also for way cheaper but was kinda skeptical ordering from them based on the reviews of their site. How long did it take for them to ship the item after ordering? And how long did it take to arrive? If you didn't have any issues ordering from them I guess i'll give them a shot also.

First purchase for me from AutoAnything. I called to ask a few questions, the salesman was very helpfull, gave me an additional discount and said he would ship for free even if I didn't hit the $150 mark. So I ordered some more stuff. I think I ordered it on a friday morning and recieved it on monday or tuesday UPS.

I am also aware that towing is not recommended on the new 2.0. Just looking for a place for a receiver style bike rack
I looked for this in my owners manual and it just says, "Don't do it". Dealer speculates this is because it would overheat the CVT...

But I think it says the same about the 5 speed.

My dealer installed my hitch on my 5-speed today. Even supplied me with a loaner car for the morning. Came home and did a shakedown tow. Handles 2 dirtbikes just fine...even with the A/C on.

Time to park the truck and v-nose trailer now.
