Gaby, is that what you're running? I know the hatches recommend different setting from spring rates to sway bars.

You could have stiff bars and soft coilovers or hard coilovers and softer bars. Remember is not a drift car and the sway bar is designed to increase wheel rate and thus decrease body roll in the process. Therefore you should decrease the chance of over steer by decreasing the size of the rear bar. If you go with the big bar you are not going to allow the car to recover from fast maneuvers and increase the chance to tail out. The larger front bar keeps control of the camber curve. The camber curve on a STI is as such: As the body rolls, camber is lost and thus the tire rolls under and becomes entirely dependent upon the tiniest edge of the outer tread on the front tire under load. Any change that can improve this camber curve is typically good, but as with all things suspension is a compromise. This affects any YM of STIs. What I am saying is this; get whatever bars you want, just keep in mind the front should be bigger than the rear. But is your car and you have your own driving style. The decision is yours to make.

I hear you. I was looking through other "race builds" and a couple were running 27/24, concurring with your explanation. Some people say 27mm is too stiff for dd'ing but others say it all depends on how bumpy the roads are too. I guess I'll keep an eye out for 24/22's since I'm going to Louisiana.

^ Right back at you bro, I like this pictures of us a lot! It means a lot coming from a STi enthusiast who continues to speak to a traitor.

Tire as sticky the better. Lots of guys talk greatly about star specs and just anything sticky!!!! Tire pressure I use 32 psi because the air heat up and the tire pressure will increase. The car gets hot after 10 minutes of balls to the wall. Brakes is a big one. Use a high grade brake fluid and pads...if not you are going to be SOL. Hope it helps. Oh and the gopro is bad juju

reason i ask about the engine temp is because mine only goes to bit above the first line. i dont know if that is normal, even after 2 laps it doesnt move. i would think after a lap it would move to the higher temp range.

Just keep an eye put for your oil temp. You probably got a big rad right? The oil is going to be your main concern.

I wish I had an oil temp gauge now. My oil pressure was barely 20psi after a lap. Made me think my motor said bye bye. After reading about it, the oil was probably so hot that the consistency was so thin it didn't need that extra pressure. What should I do, oil cooler or heavier weight oil?

Tim our car idle at 20 psi give or take two when hot. Oil cooler is a good choice but is going to lower you oil pressure a few psi. I don't know about the heavier stuff so I cant comment.

Remember I'm cammed and idle at 1k rpm so I normally see 40psi of oil pressure when warmed up. That's why it threw up a red flag for me when my gauge was beeping at me (alarm set at 20psi). Is the couple psi drop from an oil cooler due to the added plumbing distance?

Forgot all about the cams you are right. And yes more places oil has to go through. Best 600 buck you could spend. Is next on my list.

I will need new tires once I get there. I'm thinking of the new Dunlop Direzza Z2 tires since I have the Z1s on my wheels right now. Only 225/45R17 will be the best fitment for my car. I drop it off Saturday for shipment. They said it will be in Bremerhaven about 2-3 weeks into June. So I will be down for the July Ring meet whenever that is.
