Default Anybody use "Heat" As Methanol Source

An SRT guy turned me on to this, It seems like it would be better for the engine than running winshield washer, since HEAT is essentially methanol bottled in 12 oz yellow packages and used as gas line antifreeze. Mix it 50/50 with water.
I'm having a bitch of a time finding 1 gal / 5 gal. container of methanol so this seems like a good substitute.
Anyone else have some comments on this?

It's about 99% methanol from what I've read but ounce for ounce it's one of the most expensive alcohols you can buy. A more cost effective solution is to buy denatured alcohol in one gallon cans. But if you could buy HEET in bulk or something, sure. People use it.

I've talked to a few tuners about mixing water with alcohol and most of them agree the difference between a 30% alcohol mix and a 50% mix isn't that great. Since you're in a wintery state, check out Wal Mart and pick up some Super Tech -30 blue windshield wiper fluid. It's around 35% methanol, dirt cheap and plentiful. If I could get sub-zero windshield wiper fluid in Southern California, I would run with it but they don't sell it here.
