Thanks everyone. I was fat all thru out my life until I last year. I was tired of complaining and bitching about how fat I am and could never get a date. Well I finally got the balls to do it and ran 2 miles every morning for 6 months. Also cut off soda completely (hardest thing to do, I was addicted) and no more fast food.

And now i've been "skinny" for 8-9 months and now I get laid left and right :X

If you didn't mention it, I probably wouldn't have know that those 2 pics were of the same person!

I'd be curious to hear how much you weigh in another 8 months - usually weight ends up creaping back on.

I won't let that happen I still run 3 times a week (2 miles each time) and still not drinking soda. I'll be damn if my hard work goes down the drain.

Here's another pic of me

Damn, all these compliments are making my heart melt. Thanks y0. All the pain and suffering was def. worth it. Everyone is able to do it, you just need to motivation. And remember just don't pick up that extra donut!

i wouldnt count on it...maybe another chain...but losing weight isnt hard if you cut out some simple foods like you did...soda...fast food...by not eating that stuff regularly...i know its hard to do but again like you...being fed up with being overweight and determination has alot to do with successful weight loss

Actually, I was contemplating writing a post about this yesterday.

Yesterday I got back from the doctor, who said that my weight was becoming a problem. Apparently, my Mom and Dad were a bad combination, because I got my Dad's frame and bone structure (skinny) with my Mom's family male curse (teh fatness).

Now, I'm not that big. 6'0 at 192 lbs isn't that bad. It's just that my bone structure can't support it, and since I stopped growing about a year ago (according to him) my bones are going to start shifting and setting incorrectly.

Case in point is my legs. Because of the structure and various activities and injuries growing up to my knees, ankles and hips (martial arts, hockey, rock-climbing, etc.) my arches in my feet are starting to fall, and it's developing into a serious problem. The disformation affects my feet, my ankles, knees, hips and spine. Without something done, he said, I could be looking at major bone correction surgery, pins and such, as soon as thirty-five. Not to mention wheelchair time later in life.

He said that I shouldn't run, do stairmaster, treadmill, anything that would put unnecessary strain on my legs, hence making the problem worse. But he said that losing the weight now while I'm young (21) would be better for my longtime health. "No s**t," I told him.

He recommended surgery to remove the weight, hoping that over time, the less strain would make my legs and bones correct themselves, or keep them from getting seriously worse. I .. would rather not take that course, just because .. it just doesn't seem right. I wanted to ask OT's opinion on the matter, as there are many well-versed individuals who browse these boards.

Oh, and by the way, last year I tried a severe nutritional diet with as much excercise as I could take with my conditions (i.e. rowing machines, free weights, aerobics) and they didn't help at all.

Thoughts?

Since you can't exersice, then I would smoke crack. But the tricky part is not getting addicted to it

But in all seriouness, you can just easily do the atkins diet. My friend did loose 15lbs in 3 months (slowly but surely).

DON'T GIVE UP THO. The hardest part is not breaking the diet (no **** huh )

do not get surgery unless its the last resort...do what chris did...cut out junk and soda...eat 3 meals with plenty of water...no snacks or alcohol...good luck

Sure bud, I'll be here to give you my input. I'll be happy if anyone else can do what I do, or at least try. America is fat.

1) Tried it. Or, tried something very similar. It was prescribed to me.
2) The severe diet I did for a year was a variation of the Atkins diet, except I couldn't eat certain meats, I could only drink water, no sugar, and daily vitamin suppliments. I think I maybe lost 10 lbs, total. And that was also with a big breakup that year.
