Anyone use adjustable cam gears?
Just wondering if any of you guyts are using adjustable cam gears? And if so any benefits?

I don't believe anyone makes adjustable cam gears for are cars yet. Hint Hint, Nudge Nudge, Wink Wink... cobb tuning... psst Trey I think someone is trying to tell you something

From what I understand if you have a DOHC engine you can tweak the cam timing to improve the HP and Torque across the RPM range. Unfortunately with SOHC, (i.e. all the newer Subies) all you can really do is shift the powerband up or down a bit.

With the DOHC you can adjust the valve timing by adjusting or retarding the cams using cam gears. You've basically got one cam for intakes and one came for exhaust. With a SOHC, you've got to get a cam that is ground differently. Cobb Tuning has some. You could probably also find a local engine shop that would grind the cams for you.
