I think youve got the idea very wrong on the stock airbox. There is no "re-using" it with an aftermarket intake. If you are getting the Cobb then I would get the box along with it as it will help with keeping the air a little cooler, as well as look alot cleaner.

I went with the AEM personally. It was recommended to me by a couple locals that know their stuff, and the dry filter is what really sold me. I love it, great piece.

The downpipe is part of the exhaust, a turboback consists of a downpipe and catback. So if I understand what you're asking correctly, yes a downpipe and a catback. Or you can buy a complete turboback, which is both parts packaged together.

Thank you everyone. Any one have suggestions for an exhaust that isnt too ricer. I dont want to be annoying, just want a little more growl. I dont need people a mile away to hear me at idle.

I'm thinking about swapping my Greddy for something different if you'd be interested in that. Its got a silencer that makes it sound not much louder than stock but with added growl. Or for when you want power and dont mind the noise you can pull the silencer out.

I know maddad and borla have made specifically quiet systems, dont know if they make them for third gen though

I dont need it to be quiet per say, I am 32 and have a semi professional job and just would like to avoid the situation where I turn my car on and drive away from an appointment and I sound like a civic with a weapon R tip.

A day late but had a blast. Took my WRX on its first road trip/ safari wild life experience over at the Fossil Rim Wild Life Center in Glen Rose. Was a little worried an ill-tempered Ram or long antlered deer would damage the car, but it was all good.

Replaced an SPT Catback with a Megan Racing Catback, will be adding their Downpipe and Header to the car in the next week or two. I'm surprised how nice Megan parts are from what they were a few years ago. Nice welds, thick steel and still priced well.

Received Karltons via FedEx. Ordered N1 Coilovers. Hopefully be complete by end of next month if I can get them in to paint.
