Love the PBP! I am planning to place an order for one next month. Just started shopping dealerships in the Bay Area and best price I've gotten is $250 under invoice for the STI.

Also, I almost couldn't believe it but a dealer called me last week and told me he had a black STI that just came in and asked if I wanted to come in for a test drive!! I immediately left my office, drove 30 minutes to the dealer, where he proceeded to take me on an hour long drive in a beautiful black hatch. These guys don't get a lot of STI's obviously. Most every other dealer won't even let you drive it because people want them with no miles. I put 30 on this one, and treated it like I was going to buy it (went over 4k rpm 2 or 3 times, but never WOT).

I'd only driven the WRX before, and based on everything I'd read was questioning whether it was worth spending the extra 8k for the STI. Not anymore. :-)

To be fair, those are scans. Yours were screenshots.

But, to anyone curious about accessory pricing, please use this:

They still have Subaru all over them which is the main concern, as those should have been for internal use only. It was a mistake and Mike has nicely asked a few times to not publicly post those documents with Subaru's name on them. No need to jeopardize the man's job. Especially after all of his help and information throughout this thread.

guys i am now officially out after being told my vehicle might not come until 2013. Words of advice if your thinking about ordering navigation do not get it. Go aftermarket or you'll be waiting a long long time for your car.

thanks for all of the great information. maybe 2 cars from now I will come back

I wonder if you order from a non sdc/sone dealer that you may get it earlier. They probably gave you that eta because of orders like mine. I gave customer service hell and they likely dare not to give early eta's. If you were still on the market I'd keep checking surrounding states if you don't mind the drive.

only 2 months im sure many have waited longer but was told to tack on a minimum 2-3 additional months.

while going out of region is an option I still cant really afford any kind of wait as it will require me to put a lot more money in my current car.

i was just quoted $24, 852 for a WRB base with the short shifter and fog lights a few hours ago. what do you guys think? i left the dealership so they can get a chance to call me back at a lower price, but i already think it's a great deal. i think i'm going to just run with that price and order it if they don't go any lower. any opinions?

Why did you have to remove it if it was a legitimate issue and concern? Did Subaru find the thread on NASIOC? Every dealer I've gone to has reps that come on here. I'm curious, since it was a pretty in depth thread with photos and videos.

Was gonna go place my order yesterday...still can't decide on PBP vs SWP. I'm leaning towards PBP but it looks dowright purple in some picstures I've seen and I'm not a big purple guy...

I think I speak for all of us here on NASIOC that we're glad you're not a big purple guy. That would be weird. And scary!

This was my dilemma.

In some light the PBP looks pretty damn nice and in other light conditions it looks purple as hell.

Ultimately went with SWP and very happy I did.

I don't think you can go wrong with SWP. It looks good in both the sedan and hatch...I think it's usually a top choice for most people.

Who wants to hear about the nightmare I had lastnight.?.

I had a dream that my dealer called me and gave me the proverbial good news bad news scenario. Good news my car had arrived, bad news it was at some other dealer in SoCal and they dont know which one. I told my dealer I had been checking inventories on my own, and I had been getting calls from Subaru of Glendale for like the last month to come check out a 13 DGM 5door. Turns out that it was my car, and they would not release it for trade because they thought they could sell it to me above MSRP. I was so mad I was throwing a temper tantrum in my bed. I awoke to all my pillows and covers on the floor me sweating and thrashing about. I think I was in the process of kicking Pzev @ Glendale when I woke up. I'm still mad and restraining myself from calling my dealer for an update, but can't let my dreams spill into rl.

IMO that's what you call a win-win! Interested to hear back either way.

One of my initial trips into my dealer he was evaluating my trade or something so I sat in the showroom Outback. Wow, almost had a change of heart! A seriously premium feeling car. My salesman came back in (busted) and said he could sell me that instead, sort of made me laugh. No thanks

I would if I had a delivery date.

I just have to say I appreciate you all. When I called my gf @ 7am to tell her my nightmare, she had no empathy. My scoobie is already getting more of my interest than her.
