It has been done but he didn't have fender liners and he had shaved and pulled fenders, his offset was +28

.....

that will require extensive suspension modification...more than just "coils".

also, extensive fender modification. this is permanent. you really want to destroy the value of a brand new car?

and you will need "mega stretch". a proper sized tire will never fit that wheel, on that car, without some sort of flares/wide body.

Thanks for the info fellas. I'm thinking I'm gonna change my order down to 18x10 30. Or just tick with my 18x9.5 30's I'm currently rock'n.

You will need a roll and pull on all 4 corners even on stock suspension. With Coils depending on height you may have to trim the fender liner and run ridiculous camber and even then there is a pretty good chance that they will still poke.

Lets do some math.

If you go with 18x11 +20 with a 265/35R18 you are going to stick out 1.9 inches farther than stock right now. If you were to go with a 275/35R18 you are looking at 2.1 inches farther out than stock. Because of the inability to change the rear camber on the stock wishbone suspension you will now be required to get Lower Control Arms to get the wheel under the well. On top of all this with the +20 offset and 11 inch width your steering will feel numb which means the steering will not feel as responsive and you are also messing up the cars scrub radius while not completely proven is suspect to causing wheel bearing failure.

You can get them to fit but are you willing to spend the 3-4K its going to cost to get there and devalue your car in the process?

18x10's you'll still need coils, and lower control arms to get them to fit properly.

Do your homework.

To be honest an 18x9.5" +35 - +40 with a 265 or 275 is almost perfectly flush. I run a 18x9.5" +38 with a 245/40R18 (Got a great deal) with maybe a half inch gap between the fender and top of the tire and in my opinion looks pretty good. Next time I get tires i'll be going with a 265 or 275 to really complete the look.

Thanks man. I have a set of coils on the way, plus a set of LCA's. I think I will be covered.

My bad then man haha it just happens on here so often that people want to do crazy stuff with wheels, ask for advice and when it's given completely disregard it and do it anyways. Apologies.

I would stick with the 9.5" honesty, the lower the offset you're steering will get worse and worse... And I know for a fact you aren't making enough power to warrant going larger than 265's lol you have to make a LOT of power for 265's all around to not be enough haha

Any pics? Yah I have a set of 18x9.5 38 varrstoen 2.2.1's with 255/35 RE01r's that I'm thinking of installing for a bit. Haven't test fitted yet though. Kinda wanted to at least wait for my coils.

One more word of Advice.

Subaru paint is TERRIBLE. Make sure you take it to a reputable body shop who does, rolls and pulls regularly and make them aware that Subaru paint really likes to chip, flake and crack when its bent. They should know to apply gradual heat and ease the fenders into their new shape. If not you will end up with this.

It's all good. Yah I'm thinking I might just stay with the 9.5's. I just wanted to do something wild, but the more I think about it, I really don't wanna completely ruin my new ride.

Yah Subaru paint is origami paper thin. It kills me. I got a good roller out here. He knows what's up. If I'm going to stick with the 9.5's I really don't need the LCA's anymore do I?

Don't need LCA's for 9.5's unless you plan on bagging it.

I've tossed the idea around. But right now it's waaaaaay to pricey for me. I'm actually thinkin about doing an EZ30 or 36R swap down the road. That would be fun.

So I'm changing my order down to 9.5's. Only question now is, 35 or 20 offset. Decisions decisions.

+20 = roll and pull all around even on stock

http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp

Use the above link to figure out how far each offset will stick out and then go do some measuring.

That depends on more factors than just wheel width.

Most definitely but I was trying to keep it simple for the sake of brevity.
