Correlations between Knock Lite and negative knock correction
I recently recieved a TXS Knock Lite for christmas, and have had it in for a week or so. (On a side note, I swear it looks like HAL 9000, and I'll crap myself if it says, "What seems to be troubling you Dave?" ) I set it up like the destructions said, and it's been pretty neat to see it in action. It occasionally fires off at what seems to be the same rpm point, but always under light load or decelleration. So with this I was thinking that it was just a wee bit too sensitive, but hey whatever, it might be safer. The sensitivity is still at default, and I don't know what value that is (1-10).
On with my point... Now that the ecu is starting to push timing values after the reset, I'm seeing the occasional negative knock correction values on my SM-3 (at light loads), but no Knock Lite action. What gives? On the converse, I never see any -kc when the Lite fires off, even when I'm in load sites high enough to exhibit +kc. One would think that you could see some connection between these two "gauges". Also, while I have your attention... On the ride home from work this evening, I was getting -1.5 kc in what I would guess to be 15% total load sites, basically just neutral throttle cruise. No knock Lite activity fwiw. Letting off slightly (deceleration) returned it to 0 kc, and while at -1.5 kc, any more throttle (40% load sites) I would get +9 kc. So I was forced to watch the ecu tune itself , progressing from -1.5, then to -1, -.5, and finally zero out at cruise. Anyone want to toss my a couple of pennies? later, x

if your questions are referring to the Scanmaster 3 you're probably better off asking them directly at fullthrottletech.com...
But the SM3 isn't anything I would put my bet on either, It probably reads incorrectly. You shoudl watch the knock correction under high loads, under light loads it's probably engine noise. |
