Default '95 Impreza coupe w/WRX motor (25k miles) and RA gearset, etc...incomplete

This car now has the RA Group N gearset and Exedy clutch that Rallispec originally put in my '02 WRX 2k miles ago. This set up ran me $2500 in parts and labor just a few months ago when they installed in in my '02 WRX, and it has now been swapped into this '95 Impreza (once again, by Rallispec), as I prefer the RA ratios, plus I have an FP20g that I purchased for this car that will require the stronger gears.

I have been unable to do anything else to it, other than the tranny/clutch swap, which Rallispec performed. Because I'm working two jobs, and studying for the law school admission test in December, then banging out applications, I will not be able to work on this car until early 2005, so I wanted to feel out the buyer market for it. It will live in my garage on jackstands until I can find time to finish the project, unless someone takes it off my hands.

I'm asking $6500 obo for this set up. The car is stored in my garage.

Here is original post from when I bought the car from a fellow nasioc'er:

1995 Blue Impreza L 97,000 miles on the body...it weighed 2400 lbs from the factory, and will be a BEAST w/the swap completed.

Mods:

WRX front and rear struts/springs
WRX steering Rack
WRX Crossmember
WRX 5 speed Tranny (I swapped it out for the RA gearset, mentioned above)
WRX Front and Rear Brake Upgrade
WRX front seats
B&M Short Shifter
Link Engine Management - Wired In
Stock TD04 Turbo
Blitz Nurspec 3" Cat Back
WRX USDM EJ20 (25k miles)
Nardi Torino Steering Wheel
Euro WRX Tachometer
New Clutch and throwout bearing (I swapped it for an Exedy clutch, mentioned above)
Version 5 Front Bumper (not pictured)
Version 5 Hood (not pictured)
(needs wheels)

*drivetrain swap needs to be finish all parts needed are included*
specifically, driveshaft install, clutch slave install and bleed the brakes.

Car can be seen by appointment.
This is a older picture to get a visualization of what it looks like!

Since buying the car with the above mods, I have purchased the following items, which I'll offer to the buyer at discounted prices. (I will not sell any of these items separately, so please don't ask):

-FP20g turbo w/greddy housing - $600 if you buy the car
-jdm Legacy b4 17x7" wheels w/215/45/17 performance tires w/good meat remaining (~70%) - $700 if you buy the car
-jdm STi ver 5/6 red/gray suede front seats - $475 if you buy the car
-jdm WRX downpipe - $25 if you buy the car
-2001 Impreza RS headlights (brand new) - $125 if you buy the car
-RS hood scoop/vents + all 3 hood backing plates - $25 if you buy the car
-WRX head unit w/Subaru underseat sub (I'm told it will plug right up to a '95 Impreza, but I haven't tried yet) - $75 if you buy the car

Please contact me with any questions or to check out the car. It will need to be flatbedded away from my garage.

So is the swap finished? Or is there anything else left to be completed?

Its my understanding this has a wrx engine in it right now for that selling price, correct?

What about the wheels, it says it needs wheels...are those rims not going with it?

Also what are all those black marks on the front, paint chips and stuff? theres big ones there

Totalburnout,

It does indeed have an '02 WRX motor in it w/25k miles on it. The swap is incomplete, as stated in the title, although the motor is in place, and the wiring is basically done. There are still a lot of details that need to be buttoned up on the car before putting it on the road.

The black marks on the stock L bumper are a non-issue. The car now has an RS front bumper and hood, as stated above, also. These need to be painted.

I have more pics hosted here, although they're taken with my crappy digicam:

http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/ann...dwrx/my_photos

I bought the car w/no wheels. Paisan was generous enough to let me borrow his '00 RS wheels, which the pics show on the car. I have recently returned them to him, so now the car sits on my jdm STi gold 17x7.5" wheels, which are not for sale. I have an extra set of either stock WRX wheels w/well worn RE92's, or 17x7" jdm Legacy b4 wheels w/a good amount of meat left on the tires. If the buyer needs a set of wheels, I'd throw in the WRX wheels for $150, or the jdm Legacy wheels for $850, as stated above.

Thanks for your interest. Feel free to contact me if you have more questions.

Is the car AWD or able to be converted to AWD?

Would you consider 6-6.5K for the car?
Plus $150 for the WRX rims.

When Would your final date to sell be on?

Nice talking with you a minute ago.

For the benefit of anyone reading, here are the answers to the above questions.

It includes an entire WRX driveline (well, with RA geared tranny). The car was originally FWD, so it is now AWD.

I do have a spare set of WRX wheels w/VERY worn RE92's. These wheels are currently on my '02 WRX, but I would include them to the buyer for $150, if interested.

I'd definitely like to move this in the next month. Hopefully sooner than that, though.

If only all the work was done, I'd be all over it.

Good luck with the sale.

For the benefit of those who have asked, the TMIC is included. It is currently inside the car, so it is not installed in those pics of the engine bay.

Thanks,

I just arranged to pick up some jdm red/grey suede Ver 5/6 STi coupe front seats next week. If I keep this car, they are going to be swapped in. If a buyer steps up for the car, I can upgrade it to the STi seats for just $550. You will not find a better price on clean, jdm Ver 5 STi seats...just another incentive for the future buyer of this car I'll update the thread when I pick up the seats in 5 days.

Hehe...If I finish the work, I'm keeping it It'll be 20g'd, w/pullies, SUS, Blitz SBC-id/Power Meter id, gauges...and close to 350 whp on pump... My plan for this car is a pump gas 11 sec beast of a daily driver w/no car payments, to hold me over until I finish grad school and can afford an NSX.

The Link ecu is all soldered up to the appropriate wires in the WRX's engine harness. Each wire is still labeled, for the time being, making it easy to look over and confirm the wiring is correct. As you can see in the last pic of the car online, the harness still needs to be elec taped, and passed neatly through the firewall, so its just a matter of how clean you want the wiring to look for now.

so are you matching up the L harness w/ the WRX harness? or did you take out the L harness and replace it w/ the WRX one? it sounds to me like you are matching up the 2 harnesses? aprox. how mutch of the wiring is done(10%,50%)?

90% or more of the wiring is done. The L harness is still intact. The Link is wired into the WRX engine harness and the L harness. I haven't personally touched the wiring, it was done by a Subaru tuner. I purchased this car as an imcomplete project, and have had no time, except to install the WRX pedal assembly, so I haven't even looked at the wiring. My plan is to confirm all the wiring via wiring diagrams for the '95 L and the '02 WRX, which will be easier, since the wires still have their labels on from when the swap was being performed.

Thanks for your interest, snowman4us.

He sold it because the car was in his parent's garage, and he's now in his 20's, and lives several states away, so his parents wanted him to get the car out of their garage. I was in the right place at the right time, and took the car off of his hands.

The car needs some work, which is why I labeled it as "Incomplete" in the title. It needs:

-Clutch master cyl
-Brakes need to be connected and bled
-Left rear caliper needs to be installed
-E-brake cables need to be hooked up to rear brakes
-Rear end cradle bolts need to be sourced...right now the WRX rear end is held on by a couple of bolts. I plan on going to a local junkyard and grabbing the rear end cradle bolts from a couple of Subarus to properly bolt it up
-Fuel lines need to be connected to the AWD fuel tank that is now on the car
-I would also go over the wiring to confirm its 100% done, and to properly elec tape it up

I'm sure there are other things that I haven't yet had time to discover. I've been through 2 Subaru EJ20 projects, now, and this is my 3rd...I'd love to finish this one off, but I have zero time until early '05. The car is currently in my personal garage (5-10 feet below me as I type this...lol) If i still have the car by then, I'll continue on with the project. Otherwise, it'll become someone else's baby.

Thanks again. Let me know what other questions you have.

i say you keep the car and make it fast yourself...sounds like there is only 15-20hrs of work left on it..... if i only had another car to drive i would buy this...but im actualy in the market for a DSM, it took me a while to deside eather if i wanted to get a GC and do a swap as you have on your hands, or to get a dsm...
my buddy has a EJ20G in his L beater...and its fun to see reaction on STi owners face when they get spanekd by some an older sybiling.....those GC's are a mutch better chacy in my opinion compared to the GD...

hey good luck w/ the car...and i hope to see it as a finished project soon....

also what did you do about the brake light harness on the pedal box? im helping a buddy do a swap and im not sure what people do about the brake light switch on the pedal, did you splice the old into the new or what?
