Default Does the Subaru boost gauge interfere with steeing wheel tilt travel?

I've been told that it does. Is this true, those of you who have them?

Oh, don't bother suggesting aftermarket gauges...I'm a factory guy, thanks.

Mine was factory installed and when I got the car the wiring was routed over the top of the steering column. This DID interfere with the tilt. I couldn't get it to tilt all the way up so the top of my speedo was not visible.

Solution: This is REALLY technical so bear with me... I pushed the little wires over to the side and the wheel tilted all the way up. FIXED.

Sorry for the long explination...

Default Nope

I bought the gauge and installed it myself. I put the wires and hose along the side of the steering column (like ryball) with just enough slack that I can move the column all the way up with no problems.

I also installed the factory boost gauge on my own and there are no problems, the steering wheel tilts all the way up.

Is the factory boost gauge very hard to install... for a newbie? I've looked through the instructions at subaruparts.com, but everything can look easy until you get into it.

It's pretty easy to do. I installed it myself without any difficulty. The only part I felt uneasy about was pulling the panel covering the stereo off. Make sure you protect the dash with electical tape before prying the face off.

My dog has better mechanical skills than I do, and I was able to do it. I have to admit, it was a little scary, getting the T-valve on the hose was a beyotch. And the look of my dash completely off was nerve-wrecking, but in all, I had a blast! Who knew that DIY modifications could be so much fun!?! But deep inside, I still worry about my engine blowing up because I tinkered with it.

Our's doesn't interfere with the steering cloumn, it nice cause you can still see all your gauges. It's easy to install, just follow the instructions and you'll be fine.

doesn't get in the way...that would be a liability for subaru incase of causing an accident.

you can get install directions from www.subaruparts.com and they will soon be on my site.
