False - the new WRX is tourqueless dog and can't spin the time/space continuum until it reaches 3000rpm which takes about 2 seconds...

A word of advice: do NOT take a job in marketing when you are an engineer, especially if it requires commuting to the bay area EVERY week. ow.
Now that I'm back what'd I miss? (Other than my Cobb engine which is no more). Anyone want to help me install my TEC-II this weekend? |

Problem: No WRX power below 3000
Solution: Keep it over 3000... and let the time-warping begin... 0-30 in 2 seconds, so it's a pefect match Yah-HOOoo!!! Neither sleet, nor snow, nor dark of night... this AWD stuff is All Right. |

Jamie,
The engine was used for parts since I was out of contact for so long. Rather than wait for it to get reassembled, I'm going the route that allows me to learn the most (by installing things myself). The car is doing great, other than the rear bumper abuse inflicted upon it by the parking ninjas of Capitol Hill. I'm on DMS 50mm like the rest of you cool kids (quote from a friend with an SLK230, "Wow, this ride is really smooth compared to my Mercedes"). And I just went from 215/45 to 215/40 tires, so I need to drop it another inch or so. Pretty startling difference in feel. Anyone know how to recalibrate the speedo for the new tire size? This week I should be receiving the TEC-II from Shiv, those neato Indiglo guages, and a 5Zigen Fireball exhaust, with which to properly wake the neighbors. I need a replacement intake since the weld on my Minnam snapped and the intake pipe is now dangling. If anyone has one handy they want to unload cheaply, let me know. I'll be putting a turbo kit on eventually, so I'm not too concerned about the looks of the NA intake. So hey, I'm sure this has been talked about repeatedly, but why are there no Subaru speed shops in the area? They'd just have to resell for Cobb and a couple others. Who wants to start it with me? |
