Default 06 STi motor into a 04 STi.

I recently blew a ringland in my 04 sti, I am looking to pick up a low-mileage used motor for the time being while re-building the original motor. The motor I am buying is out of a 06 sti, and is complete from turbo, to wiring, etc...

I know everything will bolt right up, my main concerns are if their are any changes from the 04 to 06 motor especially electrical, like sensors, etc... that I will need to swap before putting the motor in.

I will be using the 04 ECU, and have all the original parts off the 04 motor.

Anybody? I have tried searching but most swaps are for STi motors into a WRX and I couldn't find anything other then differences between each model year.

If not anybody have some insight on where I might be able to find my answer?

Should be the same motor. You can use all of your stock 04 parts (wiring, ECU, turbo, etc) and swap them right over.

You can call a dealorship and compare "model numbers" between the 04 and 06 longblocks.

Only swap out the longblock then. Keep all your 04 sensors and such. Only swap out the hard parts and the sensor differences wont matter.
