Running them on my bmw I love them I have had them for well over 15 k and they have at least 40 k left in them. I love them and they are surprisingly very sticky... By the way the bmw is a 325xi... awd baby

Drive them in the snow? Ever driven on the RE-92? How do they compare, in the wet and snow especially? Stiffer sidewalls? Thanks!

I ahve a set of re92 on a set of wrx stock wheels for my subaru and yes i have driven in the snow with them. these tires have a much better compound in how they deal with changing conditions. in snow they are nice and soft and really dig in nicely. I never had a problem with slipping unless I pushed the car. On dry pavement or even wet these tires have a stickiness to them that is very nice. they are very surefooted. The re92 tires are ok I have never had a problem with them but they wear very fast are not as sticky and don't cope with changing conditions very well. Neither tire is a sport tire. the michelins I am running are 225/45/17 while the re92 are stock wrx size.
Oh and to answer the sidewall question I have driven re92 in this 17 inch size also and yes the sidewalls are stiffer on the michelins |

So what 'sport tire' would you opt for then that's All-Season? Kumho ASX, Pirelli P-Nero, the new Bridgestones???

I'm actually trying Pirelli PZero Nero, and they're good. If you're not looking for high performance tires, the Pirelli tires will give you good feelings.

Not really looking for high performance, but want something better to handle the elements than the RE92. Are the Pirelli less squishy in turns than the RE92?

Consumer Reports recommended the Exaltos, or even better, the Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 for V-rated all-season tires. I don't think the Pirellis are supposed to be that good in funky weather. I've had the Falken Ziex for two sets now- I like them in dry, but they are not very good in wet/ snow.

Looking at the Slalom and Lap times, plus Braking distance and Average Cornering force results from Tire Rack's testing. The RE960AS seems to have the smallest difference between wet and dry conditions, so it would likely be a good choice for those who like driving in the rain without the need for drastic changes in driving style. In that same testing, the Pilot Exalto A/S seems to hang right in there with its sibling, the Pilot Sport A/S, which makes me wonder about those UTQG Traction ratings of A (Exalto) and AA (Sport). The Exalto also has Michelin's LMAS (Life Maximized All-season) tread compound, so I assume as the miles add up, the Exalto would likely overtake the Sport in performance.
