Drop 10-20lbs and you might be competitive.

I think I got the jist of it, but Kazu needs to chime in here

The Subie gets a 6mt turbo ej20 and the Toyota gets the NA ej20
246.xxx HP, 245.xxx Torque for the Subaru
197.xxx HP, 151.xxx Torque for the Toyota

The thing that interests me is the peak torque at 2400RPM... does that seem high to anyone else?

I had no chance. Our kart broke during qualifying so I didn't get many laps. Managed a 29.4 during qualifying and that was good enough for 12th place out of 14 teams. First driver for my team ran a fast lap of 31.4 and the second driver was slower. Third driver ran a best of 29.4 and I ran a best of 29.12. That was still 1.6 seconds slower than the race winner who brought in Jack Roush Jr. as their "ringer".

Happy B-day Ben. I would have said it in person, but I didn't know. I kind of wondered why you had all that stuff with you, like the cake/cookies/treats...

So, I test drove an Outback. It's huge compared to the Rex, and really tall. But the six speed was nice, though the clutch was super light. Oh well, at least I get a copy of Dirt 2 out of it.

ha ha, so did I except I test drove a Legacy 2.5GT. I liked the superlight clutch, very similar to the one on the BMW 135i. It is nice car.

Really? I hate it in my Impreza. Needs to be like 50 lbs. heavier.

Toyota's EJ20 has a different head (direct fuel injection) and use 6MT from Altezza (made by Aishin). Subaru will be same plat-home of WRX except a body.
