Haha, I guess so. I wouldn't mind being a wheel whore but shipping them is a killer and most of the local guys seem to have older models and run 17x8" or 18x8" and I would want wider. I'd definitely start swapping wheels if I saw something I liked.

I had slightly considered a custom setup, but I don't know if it's worth it. I don't know what all I would do different than the GReddy except maybe 80mm pipes and possibly throw on v-band connections for the hell of it. The sound and tips of the GReddy are perfect.

All of your exhaust vids are great, but are of no help to me since I don't want to run an aftermarket downpipe. I'm considering an exhaust, but probably the Turbo XS since it's cheap. I'd also love to do a ELM because I'm not a fan of the boxer rumble, especially with a louder exhaust. Looking for no drone and something not very loud, but a nice addition to the stock sound.

Great looking car man! +1 on the Greddy SP Elite, those tips look awesome and little different than the other exhausts out for the GR's. Love your photography too.

I don't think the downpipe changes the sound very much at all, but that's just me. I have not tried the Turbo XS exhaust so I can't be of much help there.

I had a Turbo XS GT series on my '12 hatch. When paired with a Cobb catted DP, it was LOUD. Drove me crazy. I sold it to a local guy with an '11 hatch with the stock DP and it's significantly quieter.

Here are a couple more nighttime shots. Tried light painting this time.

Also, my wife hadn't ridden in the car with the new exhaust yet, so last night I suggested we take my car to the dentist so that she could tell me if it was too quiet () or not. She said, "I'll tell you right now, NO." So, that's what I have to deal with, lol. But she did end up liking it (because you really can't hear it while driving). But it is pretty loud outside of the car when it's at cold idle. It was hard to hold a conversation in the garage when the car was on.

I have to face my car away from the house so when I start it in the morning it doesn't rattle the windows.

I always just start mine in the garage and then leave right away. I've considered having my cold idle set to the same as warm idle. I don't think it would really affect anything.

Well one of the reasons for cold high idle is to get your catalyst system warmed up faster for emissions, so you're right, it doesn't really matter in your case.

Yeah, that's what I figured. No cats, no air pump, no real need to idle high. Driving it warms it up faster and gets the oil flowing better, so I never let it sit in the garage idling.

Ben,

Your car looks great, as always. So why have you gone through so many exhausts? Just looking for the one that suits you the best?

I have just been swapping around and trying to find something that was quiet, looked good, and had good flow. I think the GReddy is a very good fit.

You're right, there's nothing out there with those tips, and they do look damn good on that car. Be nice if they can change your slutty ways with the exhausts.

Oh, and the light painting shots look really really nice.

No worries about those tips being warm enough to affect the bumper?
