Bigger turbo, bigger and better intercooler, better suspension, bigger engine size in US(2.5l), a lot better tuned engine and better components, 6-speed MT, better brakes, semi-auto climate control if i'm not mistaken.
BBS rims, bigger hood scoop 04/05 especially, bigger spoiler, 04-07 come in sedan version only, sportier seats, some minor body work(badges, grill etc...)
Worse gas mileage, cost about $5000 to $10000 more then a WRX or Impreza. By better i mean more sportier high performance then a WRX.
What am i missing?
Go to cars 101.com they have comparison especially 04WRX and STi, sine 04 is the first STi model in America.

pick a year . . .

or break out a serach.
there are probably 30 threads like this one.
all of them eventually point to the page I linked.
which is a bit more accurate & complete than the info & guesses you will get here.

The WRX has been 2.5l for a few years now...

The main differences are
1. interior (seat coverings, carpet color, steering wheel, combination gauge, etc.)
2. engine (turbo, intercooler, tune, probably some internal components)
3. transmission (6spd vs. 5spd, DCCD, etc.)
4. suspension (springs, struts, other bits)
5. brakes (brembo 4pot fronts, 2pot rears, larger rotors - also, hubs, etc.)
6. exterior (wheels, fender flares, etc)

that's the major stuff - so quite a bit.

Yes, A LOT of people know the difference. There are many. The STi got better everything pretty much. Not to blow you off, but you need to get aquainted w/ the search feature. You can have answers to simple questions like this instantly.

The recipe for success on NASIOC is: search, search, search, and then ask whatever remaining questions you have.

its just a bit more stronger and has 65 crank hp more. Its just one step ahead of what the wrx will reach and go beyond ^_^

Depends on the year the 07 wrx and sti (engine wise) just have different heads and crank. =) yet in the WRX you have a higher compression but smaller intercooler and turbo (easily fixable)

I believe the STi also has a faster steering rack.

This is correct...Its makes worlds of difference from the driver seat too. After test drives the only things I'd really want over the WRX is the transmission and steering....

Everything else would end up being replaced while modding...

Basically a WRX is like a teaser of everything good about the STI, if you can afford a STi get one (if your in the market of course), The WRX is a extreme let down performance-wise in comparison to the STi. Yes you can do a couple mods to a wrx to make it faster, but that will only be putting the tranny in danger, etc. not worth it IMHO unless you are race building or got money to blow.

That being said a WRX has descent "get up" for a 24k car I presume, but its not a "quick car" by any stretch of the imagination in its stock form...but AWD is nice, especially in the winter!

I know im sellin my rex the first chance I get....I didn't do a enough research prior to buying

STi before end of year hopefully

Negative. Out of sheer morbid curiosity, I got a quote for another WRX at the same time as I was running a quote for my STI.... IIRC, it was a whopping $3/month more for the STI. IMO, that's not "much higher".
