Thanks man!

The installation of the BaysonR stuff went on well. I'm guessing their parts are hit or miss. I've seen some rough installations and some that you can hardly tell they are fake. I guess I lucked out

Jason how are you enjoying the gt worx setup now that you have really had time to drive on it? Can you really feel the upgraded performance from them

Lately I have been thinking about swapping over the WRX console to an STi version as many have been doing lately. I do like the cup holder design a little better on the STi and it allows me to close the area when not in use.
The problem that I see with most installations of the STi console is that the STi logo and SI/DCCD area doesn't make much sense in a WRX.

Over the weekend I had a customer make a request to shave all the STi stuff off and add the heated seat switches which I haven't seen done nicely yet.

The finished results are below and I feel that the way this was done really makes the most sense and gives the opportunity to add the console with posing to be an STi. This is another members console but I'd love to this to mine soon!

Also wrapped in pure black Alcantara

Before: Stock STi console (plasti-dip and all)

Shaving the DCCD area. Made a cover out of 3/16 lexan

Lexan blocking installed: ready to fill with bondo

Filled and sanded

Holes cut for heated seat switches (if you have them)

Finished Alcantara work

I still have all the parts to do it except each time I plan on doing it, I get another Alcantara job that uses the material. One day I'll get to it. I'm just afraid to over buy Alcantara since it's so darn expensive.

First time I heard the word fantastical was an older Dane Cook skit. Nevertheless, wow!! The center console is looking killer. I feel like I really need to get an STI center console now too. I've always wanted to the sliding door over the cup holders.

This is awesome. I'm planning on doing something similar and I have some questions for you:

Do you need the STi shifter surround? (left item in this pic) Or will the WRX surround mate up to it without issue?

I saw a post on clubWRX that only mentions item #'s 13 and 14 from the following:

http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/interi...ap-08-wrx.html

Just curious if you happen to know for sure. Also, would it be possible to relocate the heater buttons to where the DCCD knob was? I'm looking to install a I/C water sprayer and would like to use the factory location (where you put your heater switches). I'm wondering if there is enough room underneath in order to fit the buttons and wiring.

Nice work with the alacantra wrap!

The WRX shifter surround will technically fit but it doesn't look correct. There is a height difference.

Part # 13 and 14 will be required for the cup holder, I would also purchase the STi shifter surround: P/N 92126FG000JM

Thanks!

I thought I made that word up

Anyway, I'd like to see a shot of the interior where the new console is going, whenever you get one.
