Thanks man! NBP cars can look good. When I first bought the car, I found that hard to believe though. haha Your car was one of the first inspirational NBP 2.5i's for me.

Sweet.. The custom painted grill with insert is cool. I thought about trying that, but bought a sports grill because I found a good deal on it one day.. $212- no tax, free shipping. I had to take off entire bumper to install it (I couldn't do it from below).. Was worth it though. White wheels look good with NBP, I think black would also look good too.

It's totally different, different bumper- different grill- different lip- different wheels, but similar too.

It's an OEM STI grill with the badge taken off and the grill, minus the mesh, paint matched to the car.

Not a bad price on a sports grill. I just wanted to be unique with the grill selection, so I opted for a STI grill. I've taken my bumper off several times though now, for doing misc. things. It's off in 5 minutes now. I do like the white wheels a lot. My winter set is a dark grey metallic, so kinda black.

You're lucky you have an 09, and not an 08. You have painted mirrors, door handles, rear discs, hill assist, and a better looking center console than mine. You should get some springs soon! I love my RCE blacks.

The very early 08s I hear didn't have it. I must have a very early 08. Either that or mine is borked. Not that I care. Hill assist is worthless to me.

Manual. I find it odd too because my brother has an 09 2.5i MT with more miles, yet his hill assist works fine.

I can't remember exactly but I think it has something to do with pumping the brakes. Maybe someone else can chime in here.

Yeah I'm glad I got the '09.. My first new car, bought it in May '09.

'08 base model? I think '08 premiums have same stuff as '09 base.

Research below
http://www.cars101.com/subaru/impreza/impreza2008.html
'' (2008 Impreza --- new- Incline Start Assist (manual trans hill holder, (Premium, Outback Sport only) ''

2008 2.5i Premium sedan and wagon adds over 2.5i
everything the 2.5i has, plus...
---VDC (vehicle dyanmics control)
---TCS (traction control system)
-----Brake Assist assists
---Incline Start Assist, manual only.

My '09 base has all that.. '08 base doesn't. Maybe later '08s (base) do?

http://www.cars101.com/subaru/impreza/impreza2009.html
New for 09: all models have VDC vehicle dynamics control, ie stability control with off switch. New for 2009, this now includes the base 2.5i model

........all '09 Imprezas have, continued
---Brakes: anti-lock 4 wheel disc brakes with EBD electronic brake force distribution
---Collapsible foot pedals to reduce risk to feet in accidents
---Brakes: EBD, electronic brake force distribution varies front/rear brake power
---Brakes: low-wear indicators on disc brakes

Also...
New for '09
---*gone* manual transmission with Navigation*
---new colors Paprika Red, Sunlight Gold Opal, Sage Green/Silver*
---new Rear disc brakes now on all models
---new Body colored door handles on 2.5i, Premium
---new Body outside mirrors on 2.5i, Premium
---new Outback Sport gets chrome door handles

new* all with dark carpet!

EDIT-

Yup I'm 4x4 with wheel gap.. I like my ground clearance.. I may get sti pink springs for a 1'' drop, but that's about it. That with my Rallitek 22mm frnt, 19mm rear anti-rollbars and frnt/rear endlinks should be good for handling, but still allow for snow/rough terrain.

Haha, had to post this old pic from before I did anything... I hated the grill, and w/o lip, it looked goofy..

Man, I would probably go insane if I had those hubcaps
I think subaru realized that nobody would buy their cheaper model impreza's if they didnt have the basics like abs or traction control... I mean if the car is between 10-15k, I would understand but the 08/09's were at least 18k new right?

I got my '09 in '09, new, for like $17,499 ... but that was right before ''cash for clunkers'' when car companies and dealerships were not doing that great. I was actually looking for a low mileage one or two year old car, and they had some nice '07 Imprezas I remember, but with the low interest rate for the '09 Impreza, and the deal they had going on, my payments would be the same, but I'd have a chance to buy my first bran new car. It was a ''buyer's market'' I guess. I think I got a couple hundred off that $17.5k too when I bought my ''Subaru gold'' bumper to bumper extension.

Let's see... http://www.cars101.com/subaru/impreza/impreza2008.html
--2008 sedan 2.5i manual transmission
----- base + $645 destination = dealer invoice
--------- $16,245 +$645 = $16,891
MSRP, suggested retail list price.
----- Base price +$645 destination = MSRP, suggested retail list price
--------- $16,995 +$645 = $17,640

Ok, so for '09 http://www.cars101.com/subaru/impreza/impreza2009.html
--- sedan 2.5i manual transmission, VDC
------- base cost + $695 destination = total dealer invoice *note: early models may have $665 dest
--------------- $16,734 +$695 = $17,429

--- MSRP, suggested retail list price.
------ Base price +$695 destination* = MSRP, suggested retail list price *note: early models may have $665 dest
----------- $17,495 +$695 = $18,190

So in '08 MSRP for base sedan manual was $17,640
-in '09 MSRP for base manual was $18,190

-- ** Yup, '09 was much better deal, but I doubt the '08 base ever competed directly with '09 base. Maybe left over, new 08 base model 2.5i's were discounted if '09s were on lot. In '08, might as well get premium model if buying new, in '09, base model had a lot extra compared to '08 base. IF they had a 5-Speed premium in good color I would have gotten that, but they didn't.. So I just got my NBP 5-Speed.

For reference ---
'08 base sedan auto trans- $18,640 MSRP ('09- $19,190)

'08 premium sedan manual tranmission, VDC- $19,140 MSRP ('09- $20,190)

'08 sedan Premium 2.5i automatic SportShift transmission, VDC - $20,140 MSRP ('09- $21,190)

'08 sedan Premium with Navigation and Satellite radio, manual transmission, VDC- $21,140 MSRP (Not available '09)

'08 sedan Premium with Navigation and Satellite radio, automatic SportShift transmission, VDC- $22,140 MSRP ('09- $23,190)

I paid in 2011 for my 2.5i premium with sport shift 13500. Down fall was it had 57000 miles and was a rental but as it turned out its been great. Def not your typical used rental car. It was at a Nissan dealer been there all winter. They were originally asking 16500. He also gave me money to buy any battery I wanted and money to buy new dayco belts. Yea it's a auto but pickings are slim around me and could pass on the price for my first subie

Had a couple gifts waiting for me today thanks to the Fedex man...

In my pursuit of changing my interior to black I came across these. 2009 WRX front seats. Got them shipped for a killer price. As I was installing them I realized they have a blue clip that leads to nothing.. turns out they are heated as well . Will be adding a couple switches for the heaters before winter rolls around.

Also, for anyone interested in doing this. I have a 2008, and these were a direct plug and play. No need to swap the sensor bladder on the passenger seat!

Those prices seem a bit high, but not unexpected. I bought my '10 in Jan 2011 with 4.5k for $17.5k. Premium 5 door with all the trimmings to boot.
