Hey everyone, I've talked to pignoseSTi, the maker of the Karlton flares. He is still down to produce these for any year vehicle that can get at least 6 owners to agree to the conditions laid out in the first post. Additionally, he would need access to a vehicle of that year for about 2 weeks to test fitment and all.

The rears should be the same for all 02-07 wagons so if a set gets made for any year, then the other years would only be adaptations of the fronts which *should* be simpler. This is my thinking at least.

These will not be cheap (see first post), but the fitment of the Karlton flares for the GD STi are second to none. They are worth every penny and are FAR cheaper than a sedan font and rear end conversion!

I'm pushing the 06-07 hard as that's what I have, but, this deal would apply to any year that can satisfy the first post. Lets get it going. Lots of tire kickers, but something tells me far fewer people are willing to put their money where their mouths are. Prove me wrong!

I just spoke with him the other day. I'm sure he's busy with how popular these have become for the GD sedan.

I imagine the wagon would end up looking something like this:

This car is local to me and used some IS300 flares that are no longer for sale. There was a lot of fab work too. I was picturing the Karlton version to be a bit more.. "pointy" like the sedan version? But of course that is up for discussion. As I said, 265-275 would be a good target I would think. (I know offset plays a part, of course).

Right now, I have a full STi swap in my car so my wheel width is about 10mm wider per side than a standard wagon. This limits me to about 235-245 MAX before I start rubbing like mad.

These are normal 05-07 STi 8" BBS with 225/45/17 on my car. No more room!

Awesome. I messaged him back in March of this year, and didn't get a response so I figured he wasn't interested.

I can get my 05 wagon down there at some point after October 6th until April for as long as he would need. My rears are rolled a bit as I run 245's currently, so not sure if that would be a problem. I doubt it though as that part would be cut off.

My only issue with the first post is I am interested in running a 285 or wider tire...

For reference, here's a hawkeye with what look to be modified Karltons (and sedan front end)... Looks great in my opinion. I'd be in to buy a set for my 03 in the future, but unfortunately can't put anything down to get production rolling at the moment.

EDIT : I'm pretty sure there's a video of a bugeye wagon drift car with Karltons floating around as well.

100% in for 04-05's going with the original rules in post one.

Fiberglass type.

And how wide are the STi flares? I think the wagon flares should be the same width since we all know what those look like. And we also know they look awesome. An inch is pretty weak.

One thing that would be nice (and I think you've already covered it) is to keep these with the stock non-sedan fenders. It's always slightly bugged me to have the squared off fronts and smooth rears. Which is why I've never gone to sedan fenders.

alright, so my question in regards to an 06 wagon...would you need to cut out the fenders to clear the tires...i'm already rubbing under load on 8" 235's with Prodrive springs (1.5" drop)...the only way my pea brain is comprehending this is to cut the fenders out to clear for travel on a wide tire

i'd be interested, but has anyone done the math...what are we looking at for a wheel fitment on a wagon - 17x9 to 17x10...and what offset will fill up the new space without wonky spacers or crazy custom wheels

It would depend on how large the flares end up being.
I am currently fitting 17x9 with only a roll and some camber. Nothing excessive. Others are fitting 10's with more camber and a bit of poke or some pulling.
If we got extra wide karltons like the sedan version, with cutting fenders, you could probably fit 11's or so with some stretch, or 10's with meat.
