Default Poor factory paint job? What can be done?

Can a poor factory paint job cause the paint to chip easily? My dad bought a 02' WRX a month ago, and already there a 3 paint chips. I really do not think this is something he did. One of them is even on the spoiler! How would that happen? Do dealerships offer any kind of warrenty on this sort of thing, or is this just unrelated wear and tear? Has anyone else experianced something similar?

I think everyone has paint problems to some extent. It's crappy paint.

My paint looks as bad or worse as far as rock chips than the 1985 honda that I had before I bought my WRX.

see www.stongard.com for your paint chip nightmares.
Nothing you can do for the paint dings now but this stuff protects the paint from stone chips. I have it all over the front of my WRX!
Later, Greg D.
