I believe there are some roads on the west of the 15 just south of the 91. All kinds out by me in the Temecula area. And even further east like ocotillo.

There is a Rally-X at Glen Helen near San Bernardino on Dec 22-23rd. This is a great was to learn how to drive your car in the dirt and mud in a fun and safe environment.

Hungry Valley is pretty controlled but a fun place. Definately check out Dove Springs. You can go quite a distance. There's also some great trails up around Big Bear and two fun OHV areas near Valencia, called Drinkwater Flats and Rowher Flats.

Holy Jim Canyon or Main Divide rd. off of the Ortega hwy. road should suit your needs.
