Well the AOS is finally installed. Took about 3 hours. I thought it would be faster since I did do half the work yesterday but then returned everything back to OEM since I got stuck. The Dom is really tight to the intake manifold and makes getting the crank case breather hoses out and back in real difficult. The hoses from the AOS are really thick and make putting everything back together difficult as well but it can be done. The pipe from the bottom of the AOS to the crank case is slightly shorter than what is seen in the install instructions and videos but does work. Also, being a newbie like me i did not know coolant would shoot out of the coolant reservoir to turbo hose when I removed it to reroute it to the AOS. I had to go get more coolant because i lost so much of it.
Also, if anyone has the Perrin inlet hose, you need to get a 5/8"x1/2" coupler. The vent hose from the AOS to the inlet hose comes in 5/8" size. The perrin nipple is 1/2". This was my last connection and I couldn't believe I didn't see this. Coupler: Installed: Finished: Last edited by jockeygolfs; 05-22-2012 at 07:41 AM. |

oh my, it's so beautiful. My friend has an 11 sti in silver, he has to see this!
Sadly for him, he went stage 2 and had the car flash tuned from Cobb, yeah well my guess it was a fail, he ran way to rich and now his car is knocking and barely moves. He will be putting it back to stock and getting it all fixed, then modding it RIGHT the second time around lol. |

You live and learn lol. Pro-tune all the way but crap happens. He might have a leak somewhere or something too. These cars are nuts but I guess it is all part of being a Suby owner.

Never mind. I searched. Use gasoline or just let it burn up into the engine since additional oil should not be building up in there in the future. Last edited by jockeygolfs; 01-13-2012 at 06:07 AM. |

I havent read through your post past here, but if nobody helped you which I beilieve is unlikely what I did is ran it through the port behind the DP, where your engine harness comes out of, along with my wideband, alarm and stereo power. And for the sensor, your best bet is to take off the alternator, unplug the worthless stock one that tells you when it's to late, and use the galley plug thats already there for your new sensor, I went with defi. Of course I learned the hard way after trying to use the other one underneath the manifold, both the stock sensor and the defi would not fit, maybe if you got something like the AMS style plug that has an 18" extension. Good luck on your build, just curious though, was there a reason you didn't assemble your block yourself? and how much did you have to pay someone to do it for you? |

Currently I'm running Perrin Fuel Rails, but not for much longer than a week I've found a solution that uses no dampners, what I did was take the quick disconnects off the feed and return, bought ss line, and fed the rails parrallel returns parralel back to the Turbosmart FPR, and finally the actual return on the bottom of the fpr is to the bottom line at the firewall. I used AN-6 line and Russell fittings, the split for the feed is a regular -6 T. Again, the entire design and install was done by me myself and I, theres pics on my build page, I'm going rotated, with new internals on a Full-Race kit I've had since november in about a wekk, so I'll be switching to cosworth rails and DW 1300 CC injectors.
Bottom line is by taking the balancer, dampers which you have no use for because they are emission control devices that make your fuel supply kind of surge, not necessarily the correct terminology, but you can't tune it out completely, after doing this, I've obtained confirmation from some builders who told me that my idea was all the way right. Hope this helps |

Thanks for the info. I'll check it out. I try keeping the car above 3k RPM's to avoid the hesitation. I was thinking of going with Aeromotive FPR and rails. I think that would eliminate the dampeners.
I did not build my own block because I do not own the necessary tools. The cost of the tools would probably be equivalent to the cost of having a pro assemble it. I will probably take a shot at it when I get my stock block pulled. I plan on building that block up as well. Last edited by jockeygolfs; 01-22-2012 at 07:45 AM. |

Howerton two tank system has finally been ordered for the meth injection kit. I can't wait to receive it. I am estimating that everything will be installed within the month. Fingers crossed.
In the meantime I'm waiting to get an 05' STI FPR to swap out my current FPR. I already have dampers from an 07' STI. Hopefully this will eliminate the hesitation. This swap will happen on Monday most likely. |

Hey there Rob. On my current turbo and fueling setup I'm aiming for 400 whp with 50/50 water and meth. I think I will be done with power mods for a while. When the block decides to go then I'll swap it. I don't think I want to go with a bigger turbo, this one is quick and fun as is so there is no real rush to get another turbo.

E85 is not available around Palm Beach County. The closest station is about 30 minutes away. I know I could probably swap maps to go back to 93 when I run out but that seems like a real pain just to go and get E85. Plus, E85 cuts your vehicles range by half I believe. Ron (Phatron) has recommended injection and has never had an issue on his car.
