The ethanol craze doesnt interest me. largely because its not readily available to me, and the fuel is masking a lot of poor decisions in car builds because of its octane.

I know the ethanol thing is just so inconsistent distribution wise within the US that it's hard for it to be a universal fuel for everyone. It is an amazing fuel with it's cooling properties and high octane rating, allowing tuners to run very aggressive timing. I will have an E85 tune along with a 93 tune on my AP for my XTI's new motor build. I will use the 93 tune most of the time and run the E85 for fun stuff. I think most good tuners get a good solid pump gas tune as a base and then tune for the E85 from there. I personally don't want to screw around with meth injection to supplement pump gas, I want to keep it simple fuel wise. I made a simple tester with a Nalgene bottle so I will know the alcohol content before I put it in my car. Most of the test I have run on E85 in Michigan has been 80-90% ethanol and I don't drive my XTI in the winter, so the cold climate E fuel change does not really matter to me.
This car http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2415750 is a beast though! |

Besides destroying clutches and eating Evos, are there any track events planned? Just curious.

Phoenix is an easy 6.5 hours from us or possibly head south to Roswell, NM. Thinking about taking a trip soon since being disappointed of not getting to run in Albuquerque before the season ended.

I wanted to share my completed Killer B Holy header/ custom v-banded EWG exhaust and custom v-banded 3" exhaust with y'all. Previously we had wrapped the header when we installed it with the VF48 on my stock EJ255 long block.
Now with my new MPS long rod 2.5/ Blouch 3.5XTR I decided that I wanted to coat the headers so I did not have to deal with oil spills on the header wrap. Here are some photos of the completed exhaust system. I also added another 6 discs to the SuperTrapp SC Elite 10" muffler just to open the flow a bit more. It's stealth without leaving much if anything on the table horse power or torque wise. Oh yeah, The frickin car feels awesome on just the break in map. I'm running PnP'd, Supertech big valve, dual spring, D25 heads with Kelford R199B cams. CR is around 9.6/1, the off boost response is amazing and the turbo wants to spool very quickly. It feels like it spools like the stock VF 48. I know a big part of this response is a result of the Killer B Holy header as well as the high compression ratio! I can't wait to get my real tune on this build especially the E85 tune. Woohooo Thanks Chris for these Killer headers |

OK 2 in car sound clips. I'll get a couple from out side the car tomorrow. I though I had my go pro with me but I left the gd thing at home and the car and I are 240 miles from home.
I guess my buddy Tony will have to hang out of the back hatch in the morning http://dl.dropbox.com/u/39488313/XTI...20clip%201.m4a http://dl.dropbox.com/u/39488313/XTI...20clip%202.m4a |

The SuperTrapp SC Elite mufflers are very nice. All stainless steel construction and with the tunable discs more disc more flow less discs... well less flow.
They come with 12 discs installed and I added 6 more for 18 total. My buddy Angel Ortiz from HP Techs in Detroit did all the fab work on my EWG exhaust and he also added the v-bands on my 3" exhaust. I can pull the rear mufflered section off of my EWG exh. for the track, 1 v-band clamp and one hangar bolt at the ST muffler. |

Were the version 1's primaries closer to the oil cooler and filter? I went to an EJ257 oil cooler on my new motor instead of the FXT EJ255 cooler which had a spacer block that caused interference with the header primaries. I posted a photo earlier that showed the tight fit on my stock 255 block. Do you still have that Hyperflow FMIC kit FS? Last edited by manitou; 11-29-2012 at 12:45 AM. |
