My trip to Japan (pics)
So me and a buddy went to visit a friend studying at Weseda (spelling?) in Tokyo for 10 days, and i thought i'd share what I saw. First off the people we encountered were extremely polite and helpful, it was a nice suprise. We had 3 guys from an NTB type place stop for 20min, call Car-Do in Tachikawa, print and label maps for us and give us umbrellas! This trip wasn't a "go to every Subaru/car related place", these were the places we just stopped along the way. There is plenty more i would've liked to see, like another UpGarage and Signal Auto, along with a seceond Super Autobacs (think PepBoys + Autozone but cool and 4x as big).
I saw a lot more really nice legacy wagons then wrx's, and like others have stated, almost every subaru i saw had sti wheels or works, and almost all other non-subaru were rollin' on works as well. Anways here are some of the pictures, we were not photographers by any means (as it probably shows). First is first, this is in Shinjuku and was inspired by the Japan > **** thread of way back. Some cars from Subaru of Tachikawa (aka Car Do) This place is so amazing that words cannot describe it. First off the place is huge and the employees are pretty cool about tourists. It was too bad we went at night right before they were closing, but I found a few gems there... (mainly the s203 pictured below and a diffuser kit i bought). This place has probably got about 100+ used subaru's, with quite a few nice B4's. The "play area" is pretty cool to, you don't see any dealers in the US stocking so many STi parts. They even had a zero sports wrb sti spoiler for half price ~50,000 yen. I'd have got it if it was psm. mmmm. 6pots...that's quite a lot of money sitting right on this wall. Used WRC front bumper on display ( i believe) Forester STi (I have more pics but they're blurry) S203 Customer car: continued in next post

Another impreza
So when we were in Osaka, we visited Up Garage and attempted to visit Signal Auto but they were closed. I have a few pics i can post from there, but they're not that good. I was suprised though like everyone said how cheap the used parts are... i also saw a set of 18" works with brand new tires on them for 90,000 yen. I was advised by adrive43 of the crazy car lot between upgarage and signal of wrx/evo/skylines, well here it is: HOT! Last edited by carramrod; 08-20-2007 at 02:47 AM. |

Shot of the Dealer:
So here are a few car pics while we were in Tokyo our first couple nights. I think we ended up seeing more cars in the suburb type area then downtown. Old Skyline? Newer: Hot Wagon: NSX, blah.. why? And here's some misc. photos. I'll try and dig up some more, but I haven't slept for like 34+hrs, gotta love rainstorm delays. We went to a Japanese baseball game and it was seriously way cool, instead of the 7th Inning "take me out to the ball game" they all release balloons: This little place was pretty cool, there were a bunch of video games/rides on the top of a department store in Osaka. This little guy rode around in whatever direction you pointed it and played music. The Japanese were laughing their asses off at us. I have a video of this, but it's pretty embarassing: Fighting the Pachinko robots: Seriously, do it: Last edited by carramrod; 08-20-2007 at 06:33 PM. |

A college degree and native English speaker, no problem. There are thousands of English schools (after school schools) that are always hiring native English speakers to teach their students (typically range from junior high to high school students) to help them prepare for high school and college entrance exams.
Do a search on it. Typically one year contracts. Or do a search on the JET Program, called Japanese English Teacher program, it is a government program that typically pays pretty well. You have to be a college grad to get this job and the interview process can be lengthy. If your serious about it at least. Good Luck. |
