Default Is the STi BOV different than the WRX BOV?

Simple question, just want to know if I put an STi BOV on my 06, will I get better flow? Have the Bosal Exhaust+Spt Intake+Sti TMIC???

Let me know, the answer to this question would involve searching 8milliion threads, of which I still might not the right answer.

Thanks.

its actually not a BOV, both cars come with a BPV (Bypass Valve) and to answer your question.

No, it will not change a thing because they are exactly the same.... now if you had a JDM STi BPV, it'd be a slightly differnt story.

Yes they are different. The sti is able to holp more psi than the wrx. Some people have modded there wrx one to work the same as the sti.

USDM STi BPV = WRX BPV
Modded STi/WRX BPV = holds more boost
JDM STi BPV = holds more boost

I've got a JDM BPV sitting on my desk at work, if I remember next week, I'll snap some shots comparing the two.

I did a ghetto visual side by side comparo and didn't notice a difference except the round flat part had some numbers on the JDM version. The killer is my reaching inside to push the spring down. The USDM one is a real bitch to actuate by your finger. The JDM one can easily be actuated.

Yeah you are 100% dead wrong. Its the EXACT same valve. Please dont post bad info.

A modded WRX valve holds a TON more than a stock USDM sti valve. (because they are the exact same valve, which means a modded STI valve will hold the same as the modded WRX valve.
The JDM v7 STI valve however is different and able to hold more.

Unabomber, look at the JDM v7, that passage that you block off on the modded one, is already blocked off on the jdm v7. And the JDM v7 top portion is vented, just like the modded one. And it has the softer spring to prevent the minor surge that comes with the modded one (although its not bad enough surge to cause problems)

So, there is really no point in investing for JDM BPV unless I am running at least a 20g with a FMIC?

Thanks for all the info again, i love this place.

It's called "Anti-hydrolock" instead of "Anti-lag" these days.
