More is only better if you're lowered more than the Whiteline one offsets. Frankly, there's not a whole lot of point in being lowered that much, so there's not a whole lot of need for anything more.

I went out an got Moog inner and outer tie rods since my ball joints look fine. Once I get coils I'll take another look at this roll center situation by observing the angle of the control arm. I can see the value of the Whiteline RCA ball joint but the tie rod end looks like snake oil to me. Its maybe 1/4" taller?

The tie rod end and the ball joint absolutely MUST be matched to each other. The tie rod ends are a critical part of the Whiteline RCA kit and one of the big reasons it works so well.
Also, why do you want coilovers? Read up on the Rule of Biggly and the good reasons for not getting coilovers before you make a decision. |

My bug's primary use case will be track days so I assumed AST or the new FEALs. Do you have a link to that? Google found nothing for 'Rule of Biggly nasioc'....
EDIT: I ran into the TIC assembled D-Spec kit. Is that what you are referring to? Last edited by ToddMcF2002; 09-25-2012 at 05:48 PM. |

How much is that boeshield t - 9 stuff? I've got a bunch of the TiC bushings and the msi lateral links and trailing arms. I don't think I greased them right cuz I hear them creaking pulling into my garage. Thinking of getting some ceramic grease onto them before the winter. I had all the lateral links/rear ta/bushings/sti rack with bushings and rca and fender braces all installed together with new motor and tranny mounts. |

I've also got a set of these, waiting to be installed. Assuming mine are the fixed version 2's (purchased new from a reputable eBay storefront in August), these will be going on in the spring.
Can anyone refresh as to how we might tell the difference between v1 and v2? |

Same part number. These days you will definitely receive the updated version- the change was like 2-3 years ago.

From a linear (vertical axis) standpoint, how much does the kit lower the arm?
Aka how much longer is the WL ballpoint "shank"(?) over the stock one? |

IIRC, 10mm and even a stock height car will benefit.

I though this was debatable.
Since the mildest springs lower 10mm+ then the RCAs at least bring the geometry back to what Subaru designed for. Can someone explain why the RCA needs raised tie rods? From what I see the knuckle doesn't get repositioned. Only the control arm pivots back down; independently of the steering. |

No matter what the height of the car, it moves the camber curve flatter (better) and improves the bump steer.
The RCA alters the bump steer geometry which requires a change to the tie rod to bring the bump steer to zero |

thoughts on installing this on a lifted car? lifted about an inch.
i only ask because i run 2 suspension setups. raised in the winter, lowered in the summer. i would like to install this for when im lowered in the summer. just curious about adverse effects when on the winter setup. Winter: Koni Yellows King Lift springs (~1.25-1.5" lift over stock) |
