Default V6 sti type ra harness needed.

Ok so I just purchased a 2001 2.5rs in mint condition black on black and it has the v6 sti type rs full swap ( from harmonic balancer to brembo brakes with lots of upgrade) however the harness looks as though someone have it to there dog to chew on for a few days then threw it in the fireplace before trying to install it. So I'm gonna start over with an aem ems4 but I need a harness and I was just curious if any usdm ones would work.

try ebay.co.uk
however, this will be a rare find if anything.
try looking for a regular v5/6 STi harness, only real difference is the DCCD part

Even the type ra? I was there when the pallet came in from Japan. And it had the entire driveline from a v6 sti type ra. I guess a jap guy coulda put it on.

No GC8 was equipped with brembo brakes as OEM. So you got a little bonus there.

Well hell yea lol. Now I have decided just to go with a standalone ecu system and make my own standalone engine harness the factory subaru integrated stuff is just a headache anyone have a preference? I have used megasquirt before but didn't know if this was best.

you should just get your RS harness merged with a USDM 02+ WRX bulkhead harness. Run the USDM 02+ WRX ECU, IM w/accesories on the V6 longblock and than you can opensource tune and still pass inspections since your RS and 02+ WRX is OBD2. This is what I wish I had done with my v5 STi type RA in my RS

Someone told me that because my ej207 didn't come with avcs that I couldn't do this. It was a very reputable Subaru performance specialist. (Motion Lab) in Charlotte nc. However, inspection isn't critical I'm a car dealer in nc so I can just run my plates. And sc doesn't have an inspection at all so I can sell it down there. I would however like to know about avcs thing if anyone has any input.

there is a misunderstanding, because the usdm 2.0 wrx never had avcs. so simply, either get a powerfc and a v6 wiring, or get a full usdm wiring/ecu setup. the latter is immensly better

I don't think they were. I imagine you were confused about 207avcs & 205 non-avcs

V7+ EJ207 had AVCS and V5/6 EJ207 did not.
