Default Two swapped first gen Impreza. 445WHP and 399WHP

Both cars are owned by the brothers who run Renner MotorSport in Inglewood CA.

Car one was featured in the Sport Compact Car Ultimate Street Car Challenge. You can see more details here http://www.rs25.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1620703 (with pics)

The dip in HP at 5k has been tuned out (not shown)

The second car is currently also getting a widebody because it can spin the wheels on command with 235 tires.

Both are daily drivers with plenty of track time.

FWIW a stock STI averages 230HP on this dyno.

Boost is the babypuke green line on the graph

Here are a couple old pictures. Car 1 has a a new (correct) bumper and Car 2 has a widebody kit being installed

I forgot to say both cars are running 91 octane gasoline and they were both FWD automatic 1.8 Impreza L.

Which car would you like to know more about?

Car 1 started with a stock 04 STI engine. The notable changes are larger injectors, front mount, exhaust, gt3076 turbo, meth/water and of course the tune. After many miles we decided to build a replacement short block on the side. We then took a WRX shortblock and bored it out to 100mm for installation of Cosworth rods and pistons. The WRX shortblock was installed prior to this dyno run. There are no other modifications to the engine itself.

Car 2 has a stock 05 STI engine. Again the notable changes are larger injectors, front mount, exhaust, 20g turbo, meth/water and of course the tune.

I can absolutely confirm that meth/water injection lets a stock longblock run at much higher horsepower reliably. Car 1 ran reliably on the track and as a daily driver with ~400+WHP for a long time with no engine failures (other stuff broke from time to time but nothing worth mentioning).

Yeah, car 2 is getting a wide body kit installed. The parts are already on the car but it needs a trip to the body shop for cleanup and paint. It currently looks like a riced out civic with mismatched body panels!

edit: Pics just for you

Ug, makes me miss my swap. Very nice cars. I'm sure even the widebody surprises people at speed!

Car 2 is getting some 17x9.5 wheels with 255 40 17 R1Rs. We originally planned to go with 275 wide tires but some competition rules limit the tire width. It's taking a while to finish since the weather hasn't been nice enough for us to finish bonding the body panels.

Can't wait to see Ivo's car with paint. Logging on the 405 sure was fun in a "hope I don't get arrested" way.

They were corner weighed recently and both were about 2800 pounds. They have full interior too.

If the farking weather wasn't messed up we'd have the panels glued on already.

A few more pictures. How many widebodies do you know that are family built?
The weather has not been cooperating. The "glue" is sensitive to temperature and humidity.

The LGT up on the lift was getting a new clutch and had infinite curb rash. I swear the guy must close his eyes and use the curb to guide him.
